Moreno and Stafford knew something we didn't

I am thankful for the win, but CMB showed me again he really is not that good of a coordinator. I know we put up 41 against an usually tough SC defense. All of that is great but when the D is struggling the O should try to pick up the slack and vice versa. Our D was nothing but warriors last night. Thanks to some bad luck our D was put in some major trouble last night. Our defense was on the field for a Looooonnnnngggggg time. SC was in the red zone a bunch and we held them to field goals. Great job D. I think it was the 4th quarter we have a chance to give our D a break and CMB dials up 3 pass plays. What a genius. Once again the running game has set up our passing all night and the boy wonder calls 3 pass plays when our D is gassed. They were not out of shape, they played their hearts out last night. You know I am very proud of this bunch they showed a lot of heart. I agree with the earlier post, we have enough talent to overcome our average OC. The D still has issues, but they left everything on the field last night.

Yes, they definitely have heart but with good D scheming, they would be on the sideline a lot more and not have to play their GUTS out to \"luckily\" win the game.

while were at it i think bobo is a better play caller than richt

his clock management is better and he doesnt try the same thing over and over regardless of its efficacy.

We only had 308 yards of total offense.

That doesn't negate the fact that many times bone headed plays were called, both defenses were atrocious at points during the game as well. There is no way an inept South Carolina offense should be able to put that many points on the board, on the other hand there is no way we shouldn't have been able to put points on the board against Oklahoma State, hell Houston rung them up for 24 in the 4th quarter. Even with an impressive offensive showing, that doesn't mean Bobo is calling great plays, it simply means that Georgia executed them against a defense that had more holes than swiss cheese. I mean for god's sake, Richard Samuel was blown down by the wind against OSU, but against SC he played like Hershel Walker. Bobo still called the same plays, but somehow the flimsy armed Joe Cox made the 5 yard outlet passes this time instead of throwing them over their head or 3 feet in front of them into the ground.

If I remember correctly, in the fourth quarter we had the ball and the lead and only needed to run down the clock and Bobo dialed up 3 pass plays which turned out to be a disaster. I mean the detroit lions can put up points too, but to say whoever is calling their plays is a genius is far from the truth. I guess my only real complaint against Bobo is his inconsistency, some games he'll dial up a great play at just the right time, but most of the time he'll do boneheaded things that allows the other team to get back into the game, like calling 3 passing plays when we needed to run up some clock time.

Maybe I'm wrong but I've never been a fan of Bobo's and I just think we can do better than that. Wasn't Richt with FSU calling offensive plays when they won a national championship? I'm not sure, I'll have to check on that, but if he was... why isn't he calling the plays?

Because he called the plays against Florida in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006 and couldn't score points. The same thing was true in 2004 against Tennessee, a game we HAD to win. The same thing was true in 2003 against LSU, twice. When Richt handed over playcalling and then OC duties to Bobo, he said that it was because he was getting too uptight on the sidelines and wasn't able to coach because he was too wrapped up in calling plays.

Two questions, legitimate questions:

1) If you fire Bobo, who do you get to replace him?
2) What did Bobo have to do with South Carolina scoring 37 points?

Yes, and FSU has stunk ever since Richt left. But shhhhhhh! I am thrilled that Richt doesn't call the plays for the Dawgs.
I remember the first time I heard that Richt was turning over the OC duties to Bobo, I laughed and said, \"great, they won't be as good anymore!\"
