Moreno and Stafford knew something we didn't

RxDawgboy.....I certainly would have taken the money. Totally agree, I was just stating that it wasn't for the reasons the other post stated.....(because of the offensive plays Bobo was calling etc etc.)

Yes, we play Big games. Every game to a SEC fan is Big. The pollsters do not see it this way. My point is that the only people who care about Ga Tech is the people who root for either school. Va Tech ranked in the top 10 almost every year and does nothing with it. Kind of like UGA. Don't get me wrong I can live with 10 and 9 win seasons this is very respectable and eventually lady luck will fall our way. All I hear on this site is that our kids are not coached up when we lose against a top notch opponent. We deserve the right to complain because we are tired of settling. All I am doing is proving that we never win that Big game when we have to, like Bama and Florida last year. Tech did not matter in the national picture because we had 2 losses. We were ranked no. 1 and did not step up. When DJ was a senior we hammer LSU in the SEC Championship and get embarrassed by WV. All I am saying is that MB does not call good games when the money is on the line. You posted what you thought your Big games were, I respect that. I am not trying to belittle you all I am trying to do is present a different view. The last thing I will say on this subject, is that UGA has the man to carry us to a NC. All he has to do is quit managing games and start calling plays again. I greatly admire CMR, but I learned along time ago that friendship and business must be separated. If he chooses not to, then I will continue to root on the DAWGS and dream of the National Championship.

My problem Dapolla lies in the fact that Bobo seems to win despite his play calling. Take the win last night against South Carolina, they showed a statistic towards the end of the game showing balls thrown for more than 15 yards and balls thrown inside 15. I believe the statistic was roughly 80-90% of the passes Georgia threw were inside 15 yards including the unbelievable amount of swing passes. We did the same against Oklahoma State, we would need 10 yards for a first down and the play would be a swing pass to the RB. It doesn't make sense at all.

Now we know that OSU isn't that great because unranked Houston put up 21 in the 4th quarter to beat them. So if a team like Houston can move the ball on OSU all day long, why couldn't we? My only guess is 3 things:

1. Joe Cox can't throw that far.
2. The coach has no confidence in Cox's ability to throw.
3. The play calling is just ridiculous.

I've never been a big Bobo fan, even in his days at QB I was glad to be rid of him. Maybe he just irks me, but I see him as a homegrown guy who got a job simply because he played here, not because he had any coordinating acumen. I won't say that at times we've beaten good teams and beaten them big, but this is the SEC... our players are the best in the country. How many times on a 3rd down did Knowshown Moreno get the ball and end up scampering for 10-15 yards, but the play that was designed was a run on 3rd and 7. Unfortunately we don't have Moreno anymore, we have Richard Samuel who ran hard as can be expected last night, but still he's a far cry from Moreno. So all I'm saying is the play calling has been atrocious since Bobo took over, but our overall talent has helped us overcome the inconsistency with our play calling.

Richt was an OC for FSU, so why isn't he fixing this? I can only assume its because he's just the nicest guy in the world... and I love him for that, but I still think Bobo is a very bad coordinator.

We only had 308 yards of total offense.

I agree...I dont think offensive play calling is an issue at all...we hang plenty of points on the board dang near every. Defense schemes on the other hand are a major issue

My philosophy on our current D is that blown assignments are not a factor at all because you wouldnt have players blowing an assignment EVERY play. Yet the opposing O is successful. This means the problem is systemic rather than player related and needs to be corrected on the macro level.

I think richt knows this much: His loyalty to Willie may cost him his job. He's not stupid. If willie doesnt shape up I cant see him staying past this season
