Coaching

Just a question for the Brothers/Sisters of this board. Why did we get into a 3 man front on defense? I am looking at a 4/3 most of the game and we can't get close to the QB. Watched Dez waltz past our DB's and Safeties. Thinking about OSU holding us to 10 points, their defense is not close to what we will see against South Carolina. Texas and Alabama have a couple of UGA Alums that seem to understand good, old fashioned UGA defense. Bobo, calls the game like he played the game. Nuff said. Go Dawgs!

Goose, will never understand the thought pattern of getting away from something that works. GT stayed with what they do best last season and the results speak for themselves. Hate to say that, but it is true. . . . .

Buc, your exactly right about the D formation that we tend to play in way too much now a days. I also have been thinking the exact same thing about SC but think we won't prevail against their D. Whenever we play them they play us like it is the BCSNCG, their D anyway. I can't remember how many times RS had me walking around my living room when he kept falling down after they swatted at him. I hope your right Gator about our season turning around to a 10-2 season, personally I don't see it tho. I bleed red and black and pull for our entire team and coaching staff but I'm sick of tired of us not standing up when the situation calls for it.

Plain and simple for 2011...WIN

Someone has to stand up and tell me why we continue to see the same mistakes being made over and over. I have read many articles from just about every newspaper that carries anything about SEC and UGA sports since the OSU game. The comments on the blogs all come back to the same place, and that place is coaching is a big problem beneath CMR. Maybe I am wrong, but the game that I watched between UGA and OSU reminded me of the GT game last season. We have it right in the beginning, then for some unknown reason, throw what is good out and bring in something that is totally alien to me.

We have receivers . . . . AJ Green, Michael Moore, and a host of newcomers that are not going to like not getting the football. Too much talent with the folks that just came in and not want to feel the pigskin. This can and will have an effect on our recruiting. However, I think that I see our 2010 class and we are rated in the top five. Think maybe they were watching the game yesterday. These are not commits that are carved in stone. Verbals.

Must say this . . . CMR wake up, UGA is a school that lives and dies with FOOTBALL. Friendships are fine, Saban, UM and the others know that FOOTBALL come first. I wish you all the best CMR, think that there are changes that need to be made. We will all judge this team at the end of the season. Go Dawgs . . . Coaches Help!

To me there is a reason UGA a known as Tailback U. It is because they run the football and run ot well. With th elikes of Walker, Worley, Tate, Hampton, Hearst, Musa, Edwards, adn host of others coming through there, its no question why. Bobo tries to hard to make recievers happy, when the bread and butter is running. UGA has had some big time recievers, but they shouldnt worry so much about the recievers. Just like Bama last night, they wore a very good Va Tech D down with the run, and a mediocre Mcelroy made soem good throws of the play action. Football has many different styles of football, spread, option, hard nose running and others. Different schools are good at different types, UGA needstake the hard nose approach. They have the offensive line and running backs to do so. Cox is just good enough to be effective at the play action, the recievers are secondaryt in there equation. Thats just my take, its what they have been good at and it can work for them very well.

The injury to Sturdivant was heart breaking for him, and the biggest loss the team suffered yesterday.

We can all bi*** & moan about the coaches, play calling, and bad officiating but it doesn't change a thing.

Damon Evans is not even close to firing Richt, or even suggesting that Richt fire his assistants.

Funny that the most persistent voice of reason in this thread is a Gator.

My take on the game is that our D played a damn fine game. The offense is what let us down with the turnovers. Take those away from the game and we win it. Bobo is adjusting to Joe Cox and a new bunch on offense. Richard Samuel is still a teenager and needed yesterday to toughen up. I think he will get better and better.

Go Dawgs. Beat SC.
