Well, we got another one!!

In less than a week, UGA got another committment from a DB here in Jax. Derek Owens, a 5'11\", 175 lbs. Very versatle athlete. Not only played DB but WR and handled all the kicking duties as well. He'll play DB at UGA though. He said when he visited Athens, he didn't want to leave (we all feel that way though). He grew up without a father and CMR may fill that role to a degree just like his HS coach Kevin Sullivan did here in Jax. Seems to be a great kid. Sullivan says he VERY competitive and has great ball and cover skills.


OH.....AND......WE.......STOLE HIM........FROM........go ahead..........guess........YEP, you guessed it.............UF!!!!!!!! (and Miami)

It's good for us and Great for him.
Coach Richt (and his staff) are a Godsend to these kids.

I was talking to a buddy of mine that lives in JAX and he said that from everything he has read on him; he seems to be a real class act! Glad that he chose the DAWGS over UF and Miami. Cant think of any other College Coach to have as a role model than CMR! Urban Crier would have corrupted him.

Well we have an opportunity to get another quality WR from Jackson HS here in Jacksonville. Marquel Wade who is a teammate and close friend of Derek Owens, a CB who just committed to UGA last week, just stated that when he visits UGA on July 18 that....quote, \"if Georgia offers me, I'll commit to them\". Jackson has an outstanding team that has been as explosive as any HS in the state. Big passing game. He has already visited USF and will visit UM and South Carolina as well. Another DAWG if CMR wants him.....believe CMR will want this kid, good WR already in a good passing attack.
