golferdawg, unfortunately I believe you may be eating with chop sticks.....again. I forgot who posted the average scores on offense of UF, LSU, GT and one other versus our average on points our D gave up versus the same opponents.....could somebody post that again? It said it ALL about CWM's coaching.

I found the post....it tells it all about our DC...by BUC of course:woohoo:

1-O good
2-No #1 preseason ranking to deal with.
3-No proven running backs.
4-MS is replaceable, and Joe Cox can do the job. But RS and CK will not be able to replace KM.
5-10-3 with losses to OK St, FLa, and LSU.
6-11-15
7-They will not exceed in either category.
8-With a year of experience they will be able to stop more teams.
9-Not a chance. He has been branded and will never live up to the Dawg Nation standards.
10-Yes and yes.

Buc,
That was one of the articles that coalesced my thinking into a rather positive direction. Last yr we had talent; this yr we have talent. This yr, hopefully, more of the intangibles will assert their influence on the final product on the field. Ah, football, esp. college football, is a great enterprise, is it not?
So exciting, so much to see, so much to do, so much to discuss, debate, whine and moan about. Now that I think of it, a lot like being married...

DawgSpeare, went back and read the article again, somewhere around a half dozen times now. Many good points made by the players, not much lip service from the coaches. The one point made that really stands out in my mind is the coaches are in the weight room spotting etc. Wasn't done before, makes me wonder a bit. Leadership in a football program, comes from the top. You hire assistants for their \"coaching ability and leadership\". What I gathered from the article led me to believe too much of that was missing. Understandable that the players don't want to trash the players that left the program recently, that also applies to the coaches that are with the program now.

I believe this . . . Mark Richt knows that he was a little too loose with the reins, which is backed up by some of his statements after the season ended. I admire him taking the blame for some of the mistakes. However, that is a slippery slope and one has to be very careful when taking that path. Another belief of mine is that CMR is going to be a lot more out front this coming season, and that will make me very happy.

I know that we have players in Athens that can play with any team in the nation. Just please don't ever stop giving that effort, win or lose. What a great season this could and should be.
