1) No, not in history. You're discounting people like Tommy Frazier, who won three in four years with Nebraska. You're discounting people like Elway and Flutie, who were able to marshall their troops to unlikely wins and unbelievable drives. You're discounting defensive players like David Pollack and Terry Hoage right here at home.

2) Tebow came back in 2007 and they lost four games. Quite simply -- like I tell my grandfather when he gets all sour-grapes -- you don't know what you're talking about. Miami should have won the national title in 2002. They didn't. We should have won three straight in 80-82. We didn't. Miami should have won in '86 and didn't. It's hard to win two straight, let alone three in four years.

3) The last two times Florida has won the national title they've done it in a down, slow SEC. Say what you want, but it's true, especially this year. In 2005 and 2007, the SEC handled Florida's spread, because it was a very very strong league. This year it was not.

4) Urban Meyer is the most successful coach in the game today. Being a good coach also means you set a good example for your players. Meyer is scum, personality-wise. He's a very good coach. But he won't be a great until he can grow up. It's the same reason Woody Hayes isn't on my mantle as one of the best. He was a bastard. Bobby Bowden, Mark Richt and Turner Gill are all far better coaches than Meyer. They've done more with less and have set good examples for their kids.

Sometimes the bully wins the fight, ChemDawg. It doesn't mean you have to start complimenting the bully. When you do that, you become a toadie and cease being a man.

I'll agree with Dapolla that Tebow is not the greatest leader of all tim but he is the greatest leader in the modern era. And will go down in history as such. Except in Georgia.

But I will have to correct him on the fact that Florida did not run the spread in '05 or '06. They did try to incorporate alot of \"spread\" plays but Chris Leak was most effective when taking the snap under center and our big back (Deshawn Wynn) pounded the ball. We ran a very similar offense to Georgia in '05 & '06. In '07, the Gators had their first year of getting used to a true spread offense and there was a learning curve so we only averaged .. what 42.5 PPG (yeah SEC defenses handled our spread alright) The problem last year was that are defense was decimated by injury and we started mostly freshman.

As for Myer being a scumbag?? Maybe to rivals only. You must remember that 90% of the country (outside of the state of Georgia) believed that Richt did a classless thing when he had his players celebrate in the endzone last year. That is whay it was all over the news. Only Dawg fans brush it off as no big deal and that Richt is a saint. So is it right for UF fans to regard Richt as SCUM? I only bring it up to make the point that bias for our team and against our enemies is a HEAVY contributor to what our opinions are. I assure you that a vast majority of fans, coaches, media, etc. regard Urban Myer as a high class individual and one of the best coaches in the game. I'd take Myer over Richt ANY DAY!!! Myer is a winner and that is who I want coaching my team.

GatorInGA you won the national championship and of course you're going to defend your player and your team. There are a whole lot of personal -- not sports-related -- problems I have both with Tebow and with Meyer, but this is not the place for those. Defend away. I believe you're wrong.

Differences between Richt's classlessness and Meyer's:

1) Mark Richt has apologized for and explained away the celebration and the miscommunication that went on that day. Urban Meyer has NEVER explained why he ran up the score against Miami, and brushed off a poor explanation for why he called two timeouts in the final minute of a 49-10 blowout.

2) The \"celebration,\" as you Gator fans like to call it, is one instance in history, not just Mark Richt's history, but in Georgia history, of Georgia doing something \"classless\" in the game. Do you remember half a hundred between the hedges and Spurrier's explanation of it? \"Because it had never been done.\" The entire NINETIES were filled with classlessness. We do one thing -- ONE THING -- and the Florida babies whine about lack of class. Ask Percy Harvin what classy is when he's sarcastically applauding Joe Cox for finally scoring a touchdown. Ask Tim Tebow what classy is when he's such a poor loser that he cries every time it happens. Ask Urban Meyer what classy is when he kicks a field goal in the last thirty seconds of a 23-6 blowout.

Meyer is a winner. Defend him that way if you please. Bobby Knight won a lot too. So did Woody Hayes. So did Barry Switzer. Were they classy people? Or were they spoilsports and bullies?

I'll take Mark Richt.
