1) No, not in history. You're discounting people like Tommy Frazier, who won three in four years with Nebraska. You're discounting people like Elway and Flutie, who were able to marshall their troops to unlikely wins and unbelievable drives. You're discounting defensive players like David Pollack and Terry Hoage right here at home.
2) Tebow came back in 2007 and they lost four games. Quite simply -- like I tell my grandfather when he gets all sour-grapes -- you don't know what you're talking about. Miami should have won the national title in 2002. They didn't. We should have won three straight in 80-82. We didn't. Miami should have won in '86 and didn't. It's hard to win two straight, let alone three in four years.
3) The last two times Florida has won the national title they've done it in a down, slow SEC. Say what you want, but it's true, especially this year. In 2005 and 2007, the SEC handled Florida's spread, because it was a very very strong league. This year it was not.
4) Urban Meyer is the most successful coach in the game today. Being a good coach also means you set a good example for your players. Meyer is scum, personality-wise. He's a very good coach. But he won't be a great until he can grow up. It's the same reason Woody Hayes isn't on my mantle as one of the best. He was a bastard. Bobby Bowden, Mark Richt and Turner Gill are all far better coaches than Meyer. They've done more with less and have set good examples for their kids.
Sometimes the bully wins the fight, ChemDawg. It doesn't mean you have to start complimenting the bully. When you do that, you become a toadie and cease being a man.
