I believe we will pull it off and my hope is we will play for the NC against as the number 2 team against a number one ranked USC. Let's introduce them to hard nosed SEC football!!!
Been there, done that
With all due respect, no you have not. USC has yet to face a top-twenty SEC team and faced only one ranked SEC team (#22 Auburn, in 2002) during that time. USC has NEVER faced more than one SEC team in a year under Pete Carroll. Also, in that time, USC has never faced a Pac-10 schedule as difficult as even Ole Miss does playing an SEC schedule. During that time, USC has never faced more than three other Pac-10 teams who were even ranked (they did this once), and only once have they faced two Pac-10 teams ranked in the top 10. This year alone, we are scheduled to play four other teams in the SEC who are ranked in the top ten. We average 3.33 ranked SEC teams per year on our schedule, and three times have played at least two SEC teams who were in the top ten.
The fact is, LordVader, that you feast on the Wazzous and Oregon States of the world, and that Notre Dame -- your biggest regular-season out-of-conference opponent -- has been down during Carroll's tenure. USC is a good team...a GREAT team. But you will never convince anyone on this board that USC has \"been there and done that\" where an SEC schedule is concerned because your level of competition is quite simply pathetic when compared to what Georgia, Florida, LSU and Ole Miss go through on a week-in, week-out basis.
