Hey DawgSpeare, that why they say \"winning is everything\" and \"nobody remembers who comes in second\"!!

wlayton, I guess it's pretty obvious that truer words were never spoken.

GatorinGA, since you did stats on Tebow vs. Stafford earlier this year...

Can you tell me how many of Tebow's 22 rushing touchdowns were from seven yards out or less? That is, how many of those TDs would have gone to fullbacks or other running backs if Kestahn Moore could hang onto the ball? I'm just curious. I know he had a 23-yarder against FSU, and I believe a 12-yarder against us. Just wondering, thanks!

The TD runs against UGA were short.
Breakdown as follows:
12 TD's from 1 - 3 yds.
5 TD's from 4 - 6 yds.
3 TD's from 7 - 15 yds.
2 TD's over 15 yds.

His average TD run is 5.2 yds.
His average yds. per rush on the year is 4.3 yds.
These are Fullback type numbers and Tebow IS the Gators' Fullback.
I fully expect these numbers to go way down next year as the USC transfer is expected to carry much of this load. I still expect Tebow to be the \"need two yards\" go-to guy though.

GatorinGA, agree. I heard TT say in an interview that he anticipated carrying the ball less next year. That strategy will benefit UF in the long run (no pun intended).

UF will be outstanding next year; so will UGA. It's likely that '08 could shape up to be a blockbuster competition between the two in the WLOCP, the SEC and for the BCS title!

The year Tebow had was a function of the team having no real running back. If your quarterback is your leading rusher and your wide receiver is second then the team probably has no running back worth a poop. The USC transfer next year will take lots of carries from Tim Terrific.

Tebow, like all the QBs at Hawaii and at California and at Houston and at Byu are a product of a system designed to make the QB put up crazy numbers. That style can win games in college and produce crazy numbers. The QB to follow Tebow will likely produce similar numbers.
