24 hour rule is still in effect, so I'm rushing here with my coffee steam swirling around my nose to relish in just what we saw yesterday.
I've been watching Georgia for a long time, not as long as many old dawgs here have been, but a long time. In the regular season (emphasis: regular season), that was the among the best games I've ever seen this program play. The atmosphere, the intensity, the dominance, the coaching, everything. Let me just say something about coaching: rarely do we focus in on a really good coaching moment during a game, but we need to give Kirby & staff kudos for that last drive before the half. That was perfectly executed drive with absolutely impeccable clock management. For a young coach that had horrible clock management, he has really come a million miles from where he was. Credit and acknowledgement given to Coach Monken & Stetson for all being in sync. That's championship football.
This was a statement game - a big shut-your-mouths to all the talking heads. You listening Erik Ainge? You listening "anonymous coaches" who said Georgia's defense is garbage? You listening Herbie? You listening Vol-tards? You damn sure are now, aren't you?
Congrats to Tennessee for being the shortest lived #1 ranking in CFP history. You earned it.
GO DAWGS!!! GATA!!! NEXT...
