This is a game that is inexplicable. This was a complete systemic collapse that I haven't seen in the Smart era. We were out-coached in every facet of the game, from start to finish. We were out-hit, out-physical'd, out-hustled, out blocked, out time-out'd, out rushed, out passed, out special teams, out-everything. The offensive play calling was absolutely atrocious. Just mind-blowing atrocious. There was nothing that we did better than SC today, other than wear a nicer jersey.
This is a game that will be like a wine stain on a white dress. It won't go away for a long long long long long long long long long long time. If ever.
We were out coached, plain and simple. This was the first game in Jake's career that he had relentless pressure all game, and it shut him down. This game was more than just a loss. It was a foreclosure on everything we had built. No more chatter about playoffs. That horse done left the barn as far as I'm concerned. Sure, we can hear that "all our goals are in front of us" crap, but no, all our goals were 8 hours ago. Now, it's more than back to square one. This is more than soul searching and "looking ourselves in the mirror."
Growl is right - it wasn't one thing - it was everything. Not the least of which was not allowing Rod to take a shot at a 60 yarder to end the game in the tiny seconds of the 4th.
