From Athens - Friday Thoughts

Good Morning All,

I attended my grandson’s youth swim meet Thursday evening at the Green Acres pool on the Eastside near my home in Athens.

Appears like there was 300 plus swimmers and family members in attendance.

I look to right and there is Coach KS and his family…. Wife….kids… and grandparents…. Ten feet away…

I said hello and he did the same….. the next two hours plus I watched a Dad enjoying his kids….. awesome….. nobody talking anything but swimming….. quality time making memories….. with family…

Around 7:30 he excused himself hugged and kissed wife and kids…. Heading back to the office…..

Several time l times I have posted HC is a grounded person…. Believe it more now….

Also stated …… I would rather be going into year two with KS

Than year 16 of previous coach….

Short time we will know..... what's under the hood......

Pause and give thanks

Hope this young man sticks with his commitment. Couple of videos prior to committing to Georgia. Definitely has an attitude when playing. Guess he saw and heard something from Sam and others. Definitely moves well for a big man.

Not going to list a lot of names, will say this . . . . If we can get the young men that we and others want "badly" on the offensive line, for sure I understand just how valuable Sam Pittman was to Arkansas. Coaches and players for the Razorbacks knew what they had. Coach Pittman has done for us what Arkansas already knew and tried hard to keep.

Player talent is just one phase of the game. Coaching that talent "up" is what appears to be a special talent that Coach Sam Pittman has, both on the practice field and recruiting.

Doing a little research, appears that Coach Sam Pittman is far from finished.

Also, I don't know how Jim Chaney keeps getting good jobs. Against Smart's defenses, Chaney never scored more than 13 points in five tries while at Tennessee and Arkansas, and was shut out in 2013. I'm not sure what Smart sees in that, but here we are.

Just posting what has been common knowledge for a long while. Will also say that there was more to the Alabama defense than Coach Kirby Smart. There was and still is a "Nick Saban" on campus. Keys to the Kingdom still belong to "Nick Saban".

For the hog fans that refused to "slop" the hogs any more . . . . Coach Sam Pittman is doing a masterful job in Athens. Much could be said about the comments, one way or the other. For the unhappy "hogs", this "Dawg" is believing at this point Coach Pittman "understands" the missing link(s) at the University of Georgia.

My opinion . . . . the single biggest mistake for maybe decades in Athens is head coaches that did not understand the value of offensive lines. Notice that Coach Kirby Smart has hired Velasco. Maybe this head coach understands the value of better than average offensive lines.

Me thinks that watching what HC is doing with his off the field staff he has more than a inkling of

What is needed on the offense....

Rocket science it isn't..... OL and DL. Where it all starts..... called the trenches for a reason


I also believe OC and HC have had many conversations about upcoming season and HC's

Expectations..... of our offense......
