Believe in Star Ratings . . . .

This particular thread is concerned with RECRUITING. Want to talk coaching and some of the other stuff, there are threads for that on this board and others.

This is a simple comparison about "who is doing what" on the recruiting trail.

AllDawgs5, you and I, along with some others have been down this road before . . . . looks to me that you and I and a couple others have been praying for this to happen in Athens.

Couple of things caught my eye. Osu has five five stars. Bama has four. Klimpson has two. Uga and ten or so others have one. Five stars are basically the top 30 players, i.e. First round picks.

Also, bama has three of the top seven five stars.

Good sign uga is third.

College football is all about recruiting, and then keeping recruits who sometimes ain't college material eligible.

I rarely watch bama play any more. They always have better players than their opponent. Just don't enjoy watching them. It's like gong to a nascar race and one guy has a v8 and everyone else a four banger. Only way the guy with the v8 looses is if he screws up.

By far the most exciting names listed under Georgia are Andre Thomas from Pace Academy and D’Antne Demery from Brunswick.

Both of these guys have bulked up to around 320 and I know Thomas has shown the footwork necessary to play LT. I'm not quite as familiar with Demery but he is what Pittman wanted, so no excuses...

Interesting to scroll on down the list. Once you get past the top thirty, teams have one, two, or zero four stars. Four stars are your top 300 +\- recruits. Vandy zero. Csu zero. Mizzo zero. Louisville two. Kentucky two.

Edit... The ville has one four star.

I'll take a 3 star kid that has determination and commitment over a 5 star with "high potential" any day of the week! I don't put much stake into how many stars are next to a kids name. Don't get me wrong I respect the process of the ranking system but we've had a lot of 5 stars over the years that didn't live up to the hype. Coach em up!
