Kirby Smart wasting little time in getting the program in order.

Kirby said in Savannah that Mel Tucker will be calling the defenses in 2016.

My opinion, for Kirby Smart to say that, he has the utmost confidence in the Defensive Coordinator.

When Kirby was still on the Alabama side of the ball, he was as Saban said, calling the defenses.

Little doubt that Kirby and Mel are on the same page, however, sometimes one or the other might see something different and that is where “coach team play” comes into focus. Missing for many years prior to the changeover. Goes without saying that Richt did not get in Pruitt’s way on defensive calls.

Really like the way this UGA team has been organized, leaves little doubt that there is an abundance of “smarts” on the defensive side of the ball, meaning defensive coaches.

For the life of me, cannot see a weak link concerning the group of defensive coaches. All starting the 2016 Season as a unit in place. None of this pig in a poke and thinking that all will be ok.

G Day Game was a huge success in more ways than one . . . . 93K was a beautiful thing. Going into Fall camp with zero questions about those coaching certain positions. Gives me every reason to believe that Georgia will be in every game in 2016, win or lose.

Appears more and more that Kirby Smart was and is ready to be the “Head Coach”. Very methodical in his movements, personal, personnel and otherwise. That has been missing in Athens, and again, goes way back, past Richt that I have watched this type of leadership coming from our head coach.

In 2016 our players will hit the field ready to play. That has not always been the case with UGA Football. Sometimes not game ready, and definitely problems with half time adjustments. Something to be excited about.

Looking over projections where our football team is placed for the coming 2016 Season.

Highest rating that I have seen thus far is 13th in the Nation. Several others have UGA in the top 25.

When I look at the teams that are rated above us, fortifies my feelings on why we needed a coaching change. One of many reasons, reasons that those of us that do not have “bleeding hearts” welcomed “change”.

How is it that we seemed to always have football talent surrounding Athens and we come into 2016 Season not being rated above many that I see, see and cannot believe we are not in the top 10.

Said soon after the release of Mark Richt that I was not going to let up. What we are seeing now is the direct result of a supposed leader that really was lacking as a head coach. Mark Richt had fan support for many years.

Say again, the time had come when something had to change in Athens. One of the major changes in Athens was empty seats in Sanford Stadium. Fact.

Mahogany Row, one thing can be said about that “GROUP” . . . . Dollar signs disappearing. Understand that M&M came across with a lot of money, but one thing that needed to happen was the empty seats between the Hedges filling up again. M&M does not want to see empty seats. Seems to me that empty seats were becoming more noticeable. Want to please M&M, be a heck of a lot better than a 13 to 25 rating. Kirby and Company understand. Bet that.

Another stroke for Smart and Company. Back to the 93K again. Proves a point that many fans had barked about for a long while . . . . 10 wins against teams that could not find their way to the Final Four. An occasional “upset” produced, but never, ever, consistency. Smart and Company also understand. Betting the farm on that.

Changing gears . . . . See where Kublanow is getting recognition for his work on the offensive line. Patting myself on the back. Kublanow was and remains one of my favorite offensive linemen. Said this earlier, I believe that this edition of the offensive line is better than the line that played in 2015. Appreciate the 2015 offensive line, but I hear from some folks that this group is going to be better than anticipated. Comes down to “stability”. Kirby Smart will make sure that Georgia Football moves forward, not remain stagnant. Simple question that I have asked myself, and I do read and research a lot . . . . What separates 2016 from prior teams? Leadership.
