Purposely did not jump all over the Demetris Robertson commit to Cal. Leave that to the "click" gatherers.
I am solidly in Demetris Robertson's camp and this is my reasoning.
The young man took his time, did not offer up a lot of the "stuff" that so many "young" high school players tend to do this day and time. Young man wants to move forward and turn out to be "solid". What is not to like.
Another thing . . . . Any of us that pay close enough attention to what is going on in Athens since the "change over" realize that "we" are on the right path.
UGA under new "leadership" will get many of the athletes that had previously crossed state lines, and . . . . we (UGA) will face the fact that now we are better and will continue to get better. Will be more of a "selection" process, a process that we did not have before the "change over".
Looking back several years, all of us, or some of us would get excited with a name or two when recruiting, those days are in the past. Too many players that not only see what has "changed", they know change was needed.
Think about these young men on campus recruiting hard . . . . not just bumping their gums, these pups are serious. The "slide" is over, team building which includes those upstairs, coaching staff and players being involved, it has now a "team".
Say again, when we do not get every one of the young pups that we recruit, we are light years ahead of where we were at the end of the 2015 Season.
This old goat will delight in watching the "change" that might/will take a short time, say "short time" because I know that is the case. Georgia Football between the Hedges is soon to be a place that East, West or Outsiders will not enjoy. No more of the worrying about second half changes being made, or the players that crossed state lines to play for a consistent winner against tough competition.
Believe that we have finally found the missing piece(s) Smart and Company.
Going with what SouthernDawg said in another thread . . . . Media, better be on your toes, Kirby as he has told/asked his players to call him will cut you short, and never look back. This group of coaches are all about 93K plus several thousand "fans" that sent a message to not only the SEC, they spoke loudly to Mahogany Row.
Go Dawgs, will finally get to see a head football coach that does more than play with his headset.
