Monday Thoughts, Sincere Beliefs . . .

Purposely did not jump all over the Demetris Robertson commit to Cal. Leave that to the "click" gatherers.

I am solidly in Demetris Robertson's camp and this is my reasoning.

The young man took his time, did not offer up a lot of the "stuff" that so many "young" high school players tend to do this day and time. Young man wants to move forward and turn out to be "solid". What is not to like.

Another thing . . . . Any of us that pay close enough attention to what is going on in Athens since the "change over" realize that "we" are on the right path.

UGA under new "leadership" will get many of the athletes that had previously crossed state lines, and . . . . we (UGA) will face the fact that now we are better and will continue to get better. Will be more of a "selection" process, a process that we did not have before the "change over".

Looking back several years, all of us, or some of us would get excited with a name or two when recruiting, those days are in the past. Too many players that not only see what has "changed", they know change was needed.

Think about these young men on campus recruiting hard . . . . not just bumping their gums, these pups are serious. The "slide" is over, team building which includes those upstairs, coaching staff and players being involved, it has now a "team".

Say again, when we do not get every one of the young pups that we recruit, we are light years ahead of where we were at the end of the 2015 Season.

This old goat will delight in watching the "change" that might/will take a short time, say "short time" because I know that is the case. Georgia Football between the Hedges is soon to be a place that East, West or Outsiders will not enjoy. No more of the worrying about second half changes being made, or the players that crossed state lines to play for a consistent winner against tough competition.

Believe that we have finally found the missing piece(s) Smart and Company.

Going with what SouthernDawg said in another thread . . . . Media, better be on your toes, Kirby as he has told/asked his players to call him will cut you short, and never look back. This group of coaches are all about 93K plus several thousand "fans" that sent a message to not only the SEC, they spoke loudly to Mahogany Row.

Go Dawgs, will finally get to see a head football coach that does more than play with his headset.

:)

Good points Buc. I have no hard feelings for the young man. The world needs more young ones with his thought processes. Obviously, he didn't hop on any bandwagon and do like so many others do
like go to Bama just because they win now.

The man is looking long term. And if we are sincere, a degree from Cal carries a little more weight than one for UGA. No knock on UGA- we have gained engineering and a medical school. Very proud of that.

I wish him well and will follow his college career.

Any Dawg fan who trashes this kid is an idiot

Remember Mecole Hardman and Demetris Robertson facing off with each other in one of the camps. Both ended up equal, whether playing offense or defense.

Looking at Hardman videos, reminds me of a talented young man that drove Kirby Smart in the NC Game. Watson. Appears to me that Kirby has a "Watson" in Athens. "Hardman".

Hardman is a special young man, can play any position. Also reminds me of Hines Ward, faster however.

Love Hardman... Posted months ago that I didn't care where we lined him up, just as long as he was lining up for us. Still true to that, and he can help us on both sides of the ball...either/or.. or both,

No bad feelings about Demetris... He's a kid who is going where he wants to go.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

You did post that a long time back . . . . "show off" . . . . :)

Here is a line that I copied that just drives home the fact that the media thinks they are all over college football . . . .

UGA still has Terry Godwin, Jayson Stanley, etc.

Like we don't know that? Every year the media jumps all over the recruiting class, somehow forgetting what preceded them.

Can't help it Wartdawg, once was one of them, but did not play for "clicks".

One of the single biggest improvements being made in Athens is players like Mecole Hardman, naming just one, and the attention being paid at the present to the offensive line. One step at a time produces a solid team year after year.

Smart and Company damn sure understand. SEZ ME . . . . averagedawg, said it a lot sooner than anyone on any board. I said that.

Go Dawgs :)

Read the article below this morning. Have said before, Seth Emerson has an enormous amount of talent. This particular article is one of the best I have read in some time. Speaks volumes about "Family". Too many of these young men don't have the support that they need, Simmons did and does.
