Special Teams, Special Attention Finally

Wartdawg, will offer this to back up what I said above about folks paying attention to what is going on in Athens

On today’s podcast I talk about why one of the new UGA assistants that isn’t getting a lot of attention — wide receivers coach James Coley. Podcast from the AJC.

Dawgs.com has given a lot of attention to James Coley. While we don't have the "listening/reading group" that the Cox Group does, this board seems to be several steps ahead of many. Much like what you had to say for years about Special Teams. Media does their "hit and run" do not remain with the "problem areas" such as Special Teams or certain coaches.

James Coley is known and respected by many in South Florida. Another good move by Smart and Company. Coach Coley is a serious recruiter and understands the game on the field.

Cannot say when, but what is going on in Athens is "real". Bet this from where I sit . . . . It won't take 15 damn years for Serious Bulldog Fans to understand the right move was made . . . . by McGarity on his way back from the Tech game. Right? Some of us know better.

Edit . . . . www.georgiadogs.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/...s_coley_1000245.html

I know that James Coley will be a positive recruiter in South Florida and elsewhere. As SouthernDawg has said, lots of talent in South Florida. Hated to see BMac leave, but his replacement as far as recruiting in South Florida is one of the best. I am now at the point that I pull for BMac for every game except one. Bright future for Bryan McClendon.

I hated to see BMac go, but when you make changes... things change. When you a hire a man to do a job, you have to let him do it his way.

I don't believe in saying "you are the man to donthe job" and then want to dictate how it is you go about doing it. I am satisfied that Smart has addressed all of our losses with pointed and direct responses.

James Coley is a S Florida native... played HS ball down there... coached in the NFL down there.. coached at FIU.. FSU... and the U. He's coaching WR's here with a deep and long rooted familiarity in a receiver deep area. He's been an OC and QB coach so he understands the WR game from many points of view.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Yeah that was the most NCAA politically-correct "AD-speak" BS lie I've ever heard. I remember hearing McGarity answer that and thinking to myself, 'why can't honesty be the best policy here? Do you really take us for fools of this magnitude?" Answer: yeah, I think he did.

McGarity didn't have to think of jack on the way back from that GT game other than how soon to make the announcement public. CMR's fate was sealed after the Florida debacle in J-Ville. If CMR truly had no idea his demise was imminent, then that should solidify in everyone's mind how clueless he totally was. You think Les Miles didn't know his job was in jeopardy? Please.

I have very little time and patience for BS coach speak, newspeak, political correctness or any other tactic used to whitewash or pretty-up the truth of any matter.

No doubt that the Alabama Gang has had a serious impact on Georgia Football.

Jeremy Pruitt while in Athens, brought in a former Auburn defensive coach and a defensive coach that at one time coached in Tuscaloosa.

Kirby Smart enters and he keeps two of the coaches that Pruitt had chosen. The two Kirby kept, coaches from Alabama.

I look back at the coaches that our previous head coach brought in, simple to decipher what the differences between Smart and Richt was/is.

The muddled picture in Athens gets clearer by the day. Especially when I can take some time and “look back” and analyze.

So often said . . . . we have so much talent in Athens, what is the problem? Problem came down to this, in my opinion.

Players moving to the college ranks from high school needed only to look at “results”. Alabama produced results, not just 8/9/10 win seasons, National Championships. If Alabama did not win the NC they either played in the NC or came in a close second or third.

Smart and Company know the way to get better. They have the formula. Jimbo Fisher used/uses the formula at FSU, continues to follow a proven path to have a chance to be a part of the Final Four. Say this . . . . Jim McElwain is doing the same thing with the gators. He also knows the formula. Said a few days back, the East Side of the SEC gets stronger by the day. There are going to be some games in the next two years on the East Side that ESPN and CBS will be after, big time. They like “numbers” . . . . ratings mean money.

The hoopla about our Special Teams was spot on. Hoopla is in the eyes of the beholder. I like the thoughts of hoopla being another step in the right direction, can be used the other way.

Greeny played the “Hoopla” game when pointing his finger at Kirby Smart.

Really like the way Dawgs.com has “huddled up” and came up with the winning “formula”. Some excellent members on this site, that “understand” how the plays should have been called for x number of years.

Go Dawgs, go Dawgs.com. :)

Read this in the AJC . . . .

Floyd and Jenkins: Yes we protected Georgia’s secondary

OK, the two of them being truthful, they believe that. I will accept that.

Question pops up.

Why did this happen?

Seth Emerson, want to step back a few years, this is repeating story. Hope you hear me young man.

There was a time when "Pouty" moved in this direction.

There was a time when the leaders of Cox dismissed many. Yes, I can back that up.

Mark Richt did not have the qaulifications to become the head coach at UGA. He did get the job, but remember this . . . . After VD left and the "trail" that he left was not good as a Athletic Director.

This is what I know Seth, dig deep enough into UGA Sports, there are still some that might reach 100 age wise and make sure that the "facts" are presented.

Mark Richt never moved from year to year in his fifteen years and proved that he could accomplish what "some" wanted that have worn the Red and Black for more years than you have been on the face of the Earth.

Understand that many of us understand what you are doing. You are talented, Pouty is not. You are doing what the "headline" suggests . . . . covering for someone that belongs to the same group. Think about that. Realize that is not over you head. Pouty and others were released by Cox for a reason. The year was 2009.

Agree Buc that dawgs.com cut pass the fog and saw areas that kept us from progressing..

We had pieces of the puzzle....good assistant coaches held back by. HC who had his stubborn ways...

Talent under coached and played out of position.... Makes for a toxic result......

Money made... So results never questioned....until the number on empty seats started to gain

Attention..... Then of course the long ride on 316 back to Athens after the Tech game by our

Fully engaged AD did we make a change...... Go Dawgs

Go Dawgs!
