Pat Allen ---- Will Be "All That" . . . .

What exactly was Mark Richt saving Keith Marshall for?

Richt is no longer a coach in the SEC, and the NFL Combine is a pretty good example as to why. One of the most talked about performances of the entire week belonged to former UGA running back Keith Marshall, who ran the 40 yard dash at an official time of 4.31 seconds (faster than anyone at the combine). Couple that with the fact that Marshall also had the most bench press reps of any running back and it suggests a profile of a player who should’ve been a college star.

Unfortunately, Richt rarely used Marshall in his final year at UGA and offered little in the way of an explanation as to why. This was true even after running back Nick Chubb suffered a season-ending knee injury in early October against Tennessee.

Maybe the lack of use for Marshall during the season made him fresh for the combine. If so, Marshall should probably tell Richt thanks.

UGA fans, on the other hand, would probably tell Richt thanks for nothing.

Made mention earlier in this thread Knowshon Moreno.

If the "bleeding hearts" believe that they can come back and rectify the total mismanagement of the Richt years . . . . so looking forward to that.

KM as we noted before is one of many misused and

Underused. Player during MR tenure....

Mystifying why MR could think of switch players from O

to D. but never played KM at receiver when we where

Short handed......wait. Here it is again....stoopid.

I'm predicting some stoopid nfl coaches too.

KM just didn't seem to have the "juking" ability to be a successful nfl running back. I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong if he gets paid. Just don't see it right now.

Loved the article on Pittman Buc. Not bragging Buc B) , but that is the relationship I have with the girls on my soccer team here at the high school. They would run through a wall for me---not because I am the greatest X and O coach ever, but because they want to play for me. I allow them to have fun and be creative, yet they know they must work hard to earn that.

By the way, we are 5-1-1 and have outscored our opponents 30-4........for a smaller school in a rural area, we do pretty well.

There's a reason why Bielema was all butt-hurt over Kirby stealing away Pittman.

The greatest coaches are not the ones with the highest coaching IQ, but rather, ones that motivate while they teach their players and squeeze every ounce of talent out of them. The resultant relationship is one where the players believe so much in their coach and the things they are accomplishing under his tutelage that they would literally take a bullet for him. Pittman has those qualities. That type of system is exactly what it will take to install the process in Athens. Reminds me of another coach of yesteryear that Buc has as his avatar. ;)

BulldogShannon, your description of the soccer team is exactly what I "know" Kirby Smart and Company bring to the Athens Campus.

Kirby Smart has been involved with SEC Football at the highest level, results speak for themselves. Not only is Kirby a good salesman, he knows how to close the deal and he does that without his coat and tie on. Kirby understands that to close the deal you have to ask for the order. Kirby Smart approached the next steps in his life just like he has approached the years since he hung his helmet and cleats up.

SouthernDawg, I realize I have just repeated what you said above.

Having followed Georgia Football for several years, can honestly say that I have never been as "pumped" as I am now. Erk did more for UGA Football than the head coach he served under. Fact. Sometimes those that wear the big hat do not deserve much of what is "given".

Shakeup was needed in Athens. It has happened, reminds me a bit of the political system I follow closely.

When a team that has had the talent that we have had and when we look closely at the end result, nothing has changed. For the past 15 years we were guaranteed x number of wins. When we look closely at the schedules, not hard to understand how badly we failed.

Could go on for hours, will stop with this . . . . for now.

Just how long did it take Mark Richt to jump on another 4 million dollar contract?????
