Like I said in the other thread, what we're seeing is a complete culture change, a house-cleaning from top to bottom in Athens. Gut the house right down to concrete & studs and re-build from there. It is long, long overdue.

Actually considering driving down for the G-Day game. Anyone have any recommendations on where to stay in the general area? Would prefer not to have to drive as far south as Macon.

When I look at Kirby Smart and his staff, top to bottom, I am truly amazed at the excellence of these coaches, their proven experience and also, the seamless celerity of their hiring.

Coach Smart has knocked the ball out of the park with one fell swoop.

While I did hate to see some of the coaches leave, with you on the post above averagedawg.

Kirby gathering the coaches he wants. While they could be friends or not, the majority of the new coaches will start "together". SouthernDawg has alluded to our coaching staff becoming one in his past posts.

averagedawg, Kirby Smart has shown just how swift he can and does move since announcing he was coming home. No grass growing under Smart's feet.

See where some "out there" are already playing the better win 10 or more games . . . . Same ones that do not understand what matters now is a great looking "spread sheet".

This is one of the most accurate things I have read in a long time:

"“It’s not about recruiting, it’s about evaluating. That’s one of the things I learned from Ed Orgeron. It doesn’t matter if he’s a 2-star or a 5-star, it’s how you evaluate it and what you think you can do with him. That’s what I learned from him. Again, you recruit them. But there’s only about five players in the country that are totally different than everybody else. Everybody else can fall into a similar category. At that point it’s about developing and teaching. It’s about evaluating and developing your talent. And that’s a fact.”"

I'm not going to go into a lot of detail about the past, but I think there were a lot of
casual fans who don't really understand the game that had absolutely no grasp of this concept.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Tomorrow, 2/14/2016 there will be a lot of chatter about recruiting.

Will be interesting to see names that maybe we have not seen before on this board or others. New group of offensive and defensive coaches on board, not a doubt that there will be some following the coaches that have recruited them while at other universities.

Some talk elsewhere concerning themselves with players we will lose because of the coaching changes. Personally, don't see it that way. Take the positive side and believe we will do well with the new hires.

Lot of talent on both sides of the ball already in Athens. Now we will get a good look at what our new coaches want to accomplish at Georgia. Things that need to be done, so that their prints are all over those being recruited, both 2016 and 2017. Don't need to go out much further in years, believe these two classes will give us great insight.

No more shotgun approach. Put up with that for most of the 15 years under our previous head coach. No doubt that "structure" has found its way to the Classic City.
