Interesting hire for offensive coordinator. Have to say this . . . . Jacob Eason in Athens tonight and we release our newly hired offensive coordinator's name . . . . just a thought. I call it football politics.
Pulled this from the article below. Drew Brees, eh . . . .
During his time as an offensive coordinator, Chaney has had a great deal of success in a number of different offenses. At Purdue he did most of his damage with a wide-open passing attack, tutoring a trio of 3,000-yard passers in Billy Dicken, Drew Brees , and Kyle Orton. Those three combined to throw for 3,000 yards or more five times under Chaney.

What caught my eye was CKS and our new OC went
Toe to toe every year while Our new OC was at Ut and
Ark....must have left a hell of impression with CKS
Like the fact he run what type of offense he has the players to excel in
He know both how to ground and pound and chuck the
Rock.....HC choice...yes no accident that word came
With all recruits I town
Boom.Two...... OL. Coach. From Ark. Sam Pittman. Must be
He doesn't have a no compete clause
Another coach our HC. Went against. See trend

Chaney after his hire by Pittsburgh.
I think Paul is a wonderful coach, and he understood to get the ball to those players. Ultimately, that’s who I am also. I’m not going to do one style over any other style. I could care less about one style over any other style. The key is making sure your playmakers get a chance to do that. I think Coach Chryst did that when he was here and I hope we continue to do that. Ultimately, that will be our philosophy, and trying to maintain a physical style of play — which I think coincides with this city and who we are and what we want to become.
Another reason that we hired Kirby Smart. Previous head coach had one way of doing things, never altered that to any great degree.
Believe Coach Kirby Smart said the same thing in the press conference when asked about an offensive coordinator. Nothing wrong with that, goes to show not all information needs to be released in "one setting". Coaching also has to have some "suspense", tends to keep the fans attention.
Just another thought.
