Think Monday is the day that Kirby Smart holds his press conference. Watching Nick Saban today, no doubt that he has deep feelings for Kirby. Good to see that type of emotion at that level.

There is no doubt that the on field portion of UGA football has improved. For those that don't understand football leadership, you will now with Kirby Smart in Athens.

The questions that yd1 and stevedawg bring up . . . . they are spot on. Those above Kirby Smart will be scrutinized much closer than Kirby. People that pay the salaries (fans) are very much aware of those that have sat with their hands on their butts for years and years. Yes, goes back to VD, that far back.

Kirby Smart is our HEAD COACH for one reason, he is a winner. Winner in more than one way. Knows football for sure, he also has the knowledge that makes a young pup like him a "sure bet" if there is such a thing.

Will be interesting watching what folks have to say in the 2016 Season.

Am I excited, yep. Do I have a reason to be, yep. Saw half of the "problem" taken care of.

Your last sentence Buc nails it. I think he's ready (I'll admit, and I think you guys on this board recall that I wanted to at least interview Tom Herman).

But the worst thing that can happen is he fails, then McGarity is fired, and we try again.

.. and let's be honest; look at our schedule. Ray Goff could have won 7 games this year and taken us to a crappy bowl against a mediocre opponent.

I just can't see as much downside as I see potential upside with this move... and if it doesn't work, try again.

At least you're trying... which is a welcome change. Hope is a wonderful thing and I've got it again... I had lost that feeling.

Reflecting back... One year ago we were all hopeless. The unofficial "Dawgs.com" campaign to end the bad coaching started. "Wait till next year" was a joke on the board as we all knew what was really going on.

Well... "Wait till next year" failed miserably. We kept on top of the problem and now we have change. MR gone. KS here.
