From Athens-Game Day Friday # 8

Believe it is a relatively simple game to figure out.

We have played against Treon Harris, know what he can and does not do, by plan. Harris will take off in a second, that is the game that he knows. All the more reason for our young men to play the way they have been taught.

I believe that Trenton Thompson is going to make some folks day a hard one. Glad to hear that Mayes is back.

Believe that #84 on the outside is going to make it difficult to be blocked and hard for Treon Harris to get a lot on the outside.

Keep thinking that #7 is going to wake up and understand that not every play is a pass play. Stats look good, but he needs to understand that the NFL scouts look at more than rushing the passer. Several of the UGA players have said openly that #7 could be the most physically gifted athlete to ever play in Athens. Show me. Not a freshman any more. Cream does rise to the top . . . . right?

Are we capable of playing physical football on the offensive line? I really like our two guards and our center. Have some concerns about our tackles.

If #10 starts the game, will interest me as to where he gets the ball, under center or long snap. Critical for #54 and #10 to be on the same page. Critical.

If Malcolm Mitchell can keep the gators best defensive back occupied, will do much for our tight ends. "Noddle Arm" will not have to pass the ball 60 yards . . . . right?

I do not buy that the gators have more and better football players. Think the difference might be on the sidelines.

This is a game that takes me back to a subject we have chatted about before . . . . kicking game. SEC has been a conference forever that understands kicking and field position. Somewhere along the line in the past few years, we have forgotten that. History is history. Normally we make history by following past history.

Beginning to get pumped, this game in the State of Florida is like a mini Super Bowl.

EDIT: Add this. This should be one of those games that the services of Mark Hocke pays off. Not just putting four fingers in the air in the fourth quarter, do as taught.

I'm starting to get pumped too, but only because Bauta is supposed to start. I think that may make the difference if a decent offensive game plan is utilized.

A Win will be nice but getting the right parts to fix the program would be Awesome.

This is the most disliked (HATED ) team of my house.

One thing I won't do.

If Faton Bauta starts, has no offensive line protection, not going to be all over him or the play calling.

This offensive line has been around for a while. Newcomer being #77, and outside of #73, probably the best offensive lineman we have in 2015.

Say again, "if" #10 starts, he is no better than the parts that surround him. Understands the playbook, AM said that. Tough guy, talented.

Time for the "two seniors" on the offensive line to "step up". Want to play in the NFL? Every damn week they will face talent as good or better than they will face in JAX.

Folks, this old Dawg will never stop preaching the need for offensive linemen. What has happened in Athens for 15 years has been a disgrace when it comes to recruiting a "team".

#10 has a chance to make something out of nothing, that is a given. Question I ask is . . . . How often should that be the case?

Supposedly this group of offensive linemen like to run block. That is usually the case whether in high school, college or the NFL. With #10 starting, bet this, the gators will continue to do as others have, load the damn box.

Reason for loading the box? Do we not know?

Going to be loud for both teams. My suggestion . . . . keep the snap calls simple, it is going to come down to man on man. Bet that.

This is the kind of game that #1 could light it up. #4 in the slot?
