Think it has been mentioned here more than once.
Folks seem to get comfortable over a period of time. My opinion, that is one of the largest challenges that we as fans, especially Georgia Football Fans.
We have had coaching changes, but those changes are below the top. Probably some on this board that are still active in the business world go to work, and it is pretty much the same each day. That sometimes is not good for the bottom line. Not saying a profit is not being made, it's that the bottom line seems to remain the same, year after year.
That is where coaches likes Pruitt/Rocker and Company are more valuable than many of us realize. New group comes to Athens, walks in and at some point say to those above them that something is not right here. Now the "newbies" make some noise and "things" begin to change.
Ask this question again . . . . Did not seem to get any answers before.
Have the board members here (Dawgs.com) seen any "real" change in football since the "newbies" arrived?
Anyone on this board think that the "newbies" won't hold those "above" them in the pecking order feet to the fire?
One thing that needs to be done is "continually" reminding those in Athens that they need to move "quickly". Their PR departments "choice" of words. We go to sleep, they go to sleep.
"Newbies" in Athens for one year and some pocket change . . . . now the higher ups in Athens are quick to tell us that the new project (IPF) is around the 30 million dollar figure. I say this to them . . . . cry me a river, get off of your butts "quickly" and move forward as "quickly" as Pruitt did.
Many times change can make the bottom line look much better. Both income and football improvement through smart investment have been the backbone of success at more than one football factory. I use the word factory for this reason, looking at present facilities like Pruitt did, not hard to understand that 30 million is just a number. Anyone remember when Namath got a $500,000 dollar guarantee from the Jets? I do, and where is that number now? A solid investment by one NFL team that understood.
