ogredawg one very good point you make.

Can have a very talented football team all around at each position or most positions.

Follow football closely these days, just how important is it to have a "talented quarterback". Quarterback needs to be at least one of the "best players" on the team.

Many folks when describing a quarterback, especially talking heads, first words out of their mouth is "he has an arm". Nothing about reading defenses or being able to change a play at the LOS because he has spent hours in the film room.

I present "AM" not the strongest arm, but he holds many records in the "storied SEC". Same SEC that boasts "superior defensive and offensive lines".

I sincerely hope that Schottenheimer is the link needed on the offensive side. I believe that Pruitt/Rocker and Company were/are the link our defense needed.

Time for my much used statement . . . . Head coach stay out of the way, you hired Schottenheimer to run the Georgia offense. Let him do his job. One thing I know, Pruitt "runs" the defense, period.

yankeedawg1 another good point from where I sit.

You posted . . . .
CJP be the first to tell you that his front 7 and CTR had a great deal to do with what success his DB’s enjoyed.

Picked up on a comment that Seth Emerson had in his article yesterday, and it really hit home.

“Being here, there’s no such thing as playing corner or safety,” said Jarvis Wilson, another defensive back signee. “You’re a DB, and have to play all of them.”

yd1, we often use the words "teacher and teaching" when we discuss Pruitt jointly. Believe the statement above covers the words "teacher and teaching" fully. Pruitt and Company are all about "football". Pruitt and Rocker, like the combination, that is not to dismiss what the other coaches on the defense are doing.

Let'em coach sir.

Thanks for everyone adding good conversation to the BPS.....your last post Buc sparked

A though..... we looked to have found a gem to replace CWF.... his body language says he

Is up for the challenge...he is focused..maybe because he was passed over by LSU his

School...wants to show Les goofed... our gain....I agree with s21 that CBS will surprise us

Favorably.... word I am hearing from campus is there is a budding friendship between CJP and

CBS which is a very good thing. It has been noted that all our coaches seem to work well

Together. Godfather needs to stay in the corner office let the noncoms win the battles

Players voicing support for new SC. Coach and his revised programm that replaced the mat drills.. A vet players while it is different... it is a bigger challenge

"The truth is with me, it's NOT only stupid if it doesn't work...'

AMEN

"QB mistakes will cost us at least 2 games next year if not more...IMHO...
Be prepared once again for 10-3 and the CMR apologists will once again call that a successful season..."

Yep... and they will talk about the QB situation as if it was some unfortunate twist of bad fate handed to Richt to deal with, and will never acknowledge that MR put himself in that situation.

I said before this season even began that the QB was going to be Richt's built in excuse for why 2015 will be yet another 3-4 loss season, and we will again hear "but wait till 2016!!!"

I can even hear the words coming out of his mouth: "Well, we knew coming into this year that our young QB would have some growing pains...blah blah blah" By the time the spin machine is through the wash-cycle, it will seem like anyone "in the arena" knew this was going to be the case back in 2012 and it's all part of the normal and inevitible ups and downs of a college football team that turns players over every 3-4 years.

I will have none of it.

No more excuses... they've all been used up. Then again... I started saying "NO MORE EXCUSES" about 5+ years ago, but it certainly hasn't stopped anyone from trying.

ogredawg, yankeedawg1 and others, just how long has this been one of the major topics on this board?

Gathered the paragraph below from Bill King's AJC article.

The area I was next most concerned about was offensive line, more with future seasons in mind than 2015, since those guys generally take a year or two to develop. The Dawgs did pretty well here, signing four and getting Pat Allen to recommit, though Dunwoody’s Nick Buchanan ended up choosing the Gators. What bothers me here the most, though, is that Georgia didn’t really seem to put top priority on signing offensive linemen until after new coach Rob Sale was hired last month, when they suddenly launched on a frantic quest for prospects in that area. Considering the OL has been a chronic weakness during the Richt era, you’d think the recruiting staff would have been on the case long before that.

Some refer to the line in bold print above as . . . . Lack of Leadership.

Edit . . . . Wartdawg said in the post above . . . . I said before this season even began that the QB was going to be Richt's built in excuse for why 2015 will be yet another 3-4 loss season, and we will again hear "but wait till 2016!!!"

You did, I read it. Not that verification was needed.

I would offer that with our current coaching staff that going forward we will see more of

A focused recruiting effort to secure players that will fill position needs not just hitting

A number....I also look forward to us recruiting the entire country while not over looking

Georgia..... CRS is going to snare some SW uglies. book it
