wlayton,
totally understand. You and I both know of "some things" that occurred in Gainesville that the press was "afraid" to bring forward. After leaving the gators, there were some that found the backbone to mention the trashy part of his rule. The below was "one instance".
The only reporter in Florida that had the backbone to stand face to face with urban meyer was Mike Bianchi of the Orlando Sentinel, that was before meyer left Gainesville.

If only Urban's Gators had taken Rainey's threats against women seriously.

I never thought I'd see the day where the NFL would take a stronger stance on player discipline than our intercollegiate institutions of
higher earning, er, learning.
Then again, when Urban Meyer is involved, it's not really so surprising.
Former Gators running back Chris Rainey was cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers after being arrested for allegedly hitting his girlfriend last week.
Yes, the same Chris Rainey who threatened to kill his girlfriend via his infamous "Time to die" text message at UF three years ago. UF originally suspended Rainey, but Meyer allowed him back on the team a few weeks later so he could help the Gators win a big game against Georgia.

Guess the above takes me to this . . . . Now Nick Saban is repeating history. Winning football games at any cost. Alabama needs those big bodies on the defensive line, like urban meyer needed Rainey's speed to beat Georgia.
Taylor I am guessing has now been "cured" for the disease that caused him to hit his girlfriend and return to play football. I call BS on Nick Saban.
Yes, I know that Richt did the right thing, and I am thankful for that. Just needs to get the rest of his "game" together.
Edit: Is Nick Saban now following in urban meyer's footsteps? Win at all costs, right?
