Georgia led the SEC in Scoring and Turnover Margin in 2014.

Tonight will watch Oregon and Ohio State face off for the National Championship.

Trying to figure out when reading the above mentioned categories that UGA led the SEC in, how it is that we have some leaders in Athens trying their best to “media” their way into a final top ten.

With statistics like the ones listed above, what prevented UGA from being in the top ten in college football all season, including now.

Believe I have an answer when I look over the 10-3 end of season record. The three part really disturbs me.

Three coaches have been hired since the Belk Bowl. Still hoping that one more is added to the staff. That being a Special Teams Coach. They are out there, and for sure they will not break the bank, might even be the difference in “hoping” to finish in the top ten and “finishing” in the top ten.

At this point there is a lot of conversation about the great recruiting class of 2015. Some will sign elsewhere, but even with that happening, 2015 is going to be “another” class loaded with talent.

Offense looks solid. Defense should be even better in 2015 than 2014. Pruitt/Rocker and Company's system retains the same coaches and additional talent coming in that will probably be taking the majority of the snaps in 2015. Trenton Thompson being just one. There is a lot of depth on the defensive side of the ball, getting deeper.

Here is hoping that those in charge of the talent in Athens and those that will soon bunk there reach heights that are not prevented by some of the mistakes made in 2014, referring to the 3 losses primarily. No excuses.

We know who our leaders are, the mystery on who would be hired has been taken care of.

With the talent that is and will be in Athens, time now for the “coaching staff” to grow up and meet expectations. Not unwarranted expectations, real expectations, based on what the “Group” wants us to believe through their Public Relations efforts at this point in time. 10-3 with this talent will not quiet those that are vocal now and have been for some time.

Thoughts?

yankeedawg1, trying to temper my comments just yet.

I somehow believe with a returning offensive line and running backs that put up huge numbers in 2014, cannot see much change coming from the new hires. Hope that was discussed between those new on board and our head coach.

Kind of alluded to the offensive side when I mentioned the defensive side of the ball. Players returning on the defense that would have departed Athens in prior years for the NFL.

I for one believe that Pruitt and the rest of the defensive coaches have formed what I would refer to as a "team among coaches". Quite frankly, not sure I have in the past 14 years witnessed both "teaching and compatibility" among the staff. Not too hard to thumb back through the years and it becomes very noticeable that many, maybe most of the problems were "staff problems". Also think when I mention "staff" it goes above the head coach and athletic directors authority. Believe we recently witnessed that. Damn near lost Pruitt.

Have to see more of the offensive coordinator's plan to develop before going one way or the other. Fair to the players and fans.

Appears to me that Pruitt will be the main force south of Atlanta in the recruiting department. Not that he won't go anywhere and everywhere, just know that there was a huge hole left in South Georgia with Mike Bobo leaving. Bobo recruited as many defensive players over the years as offensive players. Fact. Richt is not going to do that, proving once again that his time is spent after the leg work is done.

We had grantham come in from the NFL, looked good in the beginning. Leave that right there.

Hiring a former NFL coach does not guarantee a huge rise in recruiting. I say that and am looking forward to February LOI's and the impact that Tracy Rocker had on recruiting the 2015 Class. I follow that kind of information. Believe it gives me better insight into the overall UGA program.

^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^

.....This is what I believe we are beginning to see in the CC. It started out rather subtle and Mahogany Row was very satisfied with the modest, but consistent revenues generated from mediocrity...But now,.....Now, they are searching, hoping for a seat at "THE" table...and that will require an investment in culture (coaching) change.

Deep down; where my CMR loyalty once reigned, I'm hopeful that all this "change" is part of the HC's architectural plan.....But there's this ever present voice telling me that much of this is based on "Boardroom" decisions at pay grades much higher than the Ol' Skipper!

2015 is a formidable schedule....I'm not expecting much in the way of change. We may, in fact, be witnessing the issuing of enough hemp upon which our Good Captain may ensnare himself!..Time will tell....
