What, Where Are You Coming From?

Seems that the pressure is building up for some of the top athletes to commit. Has always been a practiced method . . . . "we have x number of spots available for the 2015 Class".

Really believe that we are going to see more young men signing prior to February. Many high schoolers know that every college usually has a plan, such as x number for x positions.

This recruiting season (2015) has a lot of very good offensive linemen, both in the State of Georgia and all over the Southeast. Now it comes down to those college coaches doing the leg work, convincing these young men that their college is suited well for them.

I like the coaches that are working hard for UGA this season, compared to earlier years.

One that I am watching closely is Cole Minshew from South Georgia. Still know some folks down that way, and they seem to think that our chances of getting Cole to flip is more than possible. Minshew is being recruited by Mike Bobo and Will Friend. Jake Edwards a UGA commit could play a hand in this.

It appears to me that the defense is in good shape, and now can pick and choose for the remainder of 2015. Strong 2014 Season under Pruitt/Rocker and defensive coaches will move our program light years from where it has been recently.

Really hoping that we get the remaining pieces that are needed for our offensive line. Some good linemen in the 2014 Class, some in Athens now with experience, solid 2015 Class could end my misery over the lack of attention to offensive line recruiting.

That is What, Where I am Coming From . . . .

Edit: yankeedawg1, your post hit before mine. My thoughts are the best thing that could have happened at this point was for those that left and were booted to get their butts out of Athens. All about themselves. Anyone think that Pruitt/Rocker are joking around? Now it is time for those that want to play between the Hedges to step up.

Truly believe we will now see some young players that are not hyped by the media come to Athens and make believers of those that don't buy the star system. Pruitt/Rocker and company know what they want, and they are straight forward about their intentions. Just ask the clown and the class disrupter. Hard not to like what is going on with Pruitt/Rocker and comapny. Seems every long interview with Mark Richt coach is praising the "newcomers". (Coaches)

Post #6 . . . . Good "stuff" yankeedawg1.

A comment from Dyshon Sims . . . .

"I just want to show them that I've got a very good work ethic," Sims said. "I'm going to come in, and I'll not slack off any and give my all during practice. I just want to show that I'm dependable and they can always count on me when it's time to get in those big-game situations."

Greg . . . . :)

Some of the posts on other boards about Dyshon Sims and the incoming class of offensive linemen. Several "nasties" in the class. Keep working Will Friend, you can do it.

That guy looks like a football player to me. Good stuff G.

Versatility, length, attitude, character, athleticism, and foot quickness. This kid will be a stud and a multi-year starter for us. He may start at guard but his future (and his paycheck) is at OT.

I definitely believe the 2014 OL recruits are going to prove to be great players!

For as much as we tend to talk down on our Oline recruiting we really hauled in an excellent class and we are in it with a few more big men this yr...I see things looking up for us in the trenches in the near future!

cant wait to see him on the field. GO DAWGS!

This is the one I've been waiting for. Hell Yeah to him
pushing for a starting role.

Kid was an U.S. Army All-American, lets not forget that!

Had an offensive lineman sign on with Ole Miss, hurt some feelings. (Mine)

Dyshon Sims will heal those "hurt feelings". Better than the one that got away. I said that.

Looking over some old film on Hutson Mason, high school film.

After watching the film, going to agree with Mike Bobo that Hutson Mason is going to do well. Still of the belief that the offensive line will determine how far this 2014 edition of our football goes.

Gurley back and healthy, Hutson Mason will love this portion of the offense.

Brandon Kublanow was a favorite of mine before coming to UGA. Will pull that out of the vault if anyone wants to take a look.

Not totally sure of the circumstances, have heard different things, one being he has had some illness to overcome. Has to be someone out there that knows more than 5 star rating systems and that "sort" of "stuff" that can answer that "want to know" question.

If Kublanow is up to "snuff" and has all parts working, would not like facing off with him for four quarters.

Don't have a "press pass" so that means all I can get from interviews is what the "privileged" choose to tell us (and want to charge). Not many of those are worth a spit, they work for the "boss". Couple I really think do their job and are true to sports journalism,
others . . . .

Need for some of you folks that "pretend" to like UGA Football to bring me up to speed about other offensive linemen currently in Athens. Hard for me to understand how some of us that live miles away from high school football in Georgia not knowing more about our offensive line.

See this is where it comes down. Some can come on this board and criticize, but those same folks can't tell you spit about high school players in Georgia or players from a different state. They can however do this . . . . criticize the coaches. Damn, is there not more to UGA football than barking at coaches? Did I say that . . . . damn sure did.

Have taken a long, hard look at many of the conversations on this board. Too many have the same thing to say, over and over, that is when they have something to say.

Another thing, I don't buy the BS that some on this board throw out. Too busy to look at how we can get better through recruiting and coaching.

Someone on this board come to this post and give me some inside information on the current offensive linemen in Athens. Can't do that, how the hell can you speak to the "overall" that is Georgia Football. Said that also.

I criticize Mark Richt, but I also take the time to look at the overall picture of Georgia football . . . . anyone reading this post that can say the same . . . .

Read all of the 5 star "stuff" about how good the players are coming out of high school.

Lady Sportswriter, Kimberley Nash took the time to "spotlight" Charlie Hegedus. Have read every damn thing the "others" have written, none of them come close to this sportwriter when it comes down to one man, Charlie Hegedus, UGA football. This Lady says she is who she is, is appreciated by this "old fart" that appreciates the real "spit".

Don't mean anything other than what I am saying here, Charlie Hegedus along with Shakenneth Williams is going to put smiles on many of our faces. Coaching staff is doing a really good job looking "closely" at talent.

Will continue to talk about things that I "like or dislike" about UGA football.

I don't pick fights, but I don't step away.
