What, Where Are You Coming From?

10 years 5 months ago - 10 years 5 months ago #60740 by Buc
Without a doubt, reading the link below makes me wonder if some of us are on the same planet, or page.

Another "protector" of our current head coach. Where the hell was this head coach several years back, cub reporter?

Still hard for those cub reporters to understand that changes come in different ways.

What I read in the link below does not come from someone that really understands what has gone on in Athens . . . . for many years. Another "one" trying to make a splash.

The paragraph in BOLD, leads me to say this . . . . Thought "pouty" from the AJC was bad, the person that wrote this article is without a doubt looking for "something", not sure what. For damn sure it does not have anything to do with Georgia football as it was/is.

Now the criticism of Richt is that he's gone too far. That's a bunch of nonsense. Does anyone think he wanted to get rid of two of his best defensive backs after the recruiting season was over? It's doubtful that Jeremy Pruitt, the new defensive coordinator, just wanted them gone. This is not addition by subtraction. These are two good football players who could have helped Georgia win. Richt knows he has to win in order to keep his job.

Where on the internet does it say that Mark Richt has gone too far? You said it, back it up, not too much to ask.

Believe the person that published this article truly does not understand what is going on in Athens, especially with the "new hires". Guessing the author of the article is still "wet behind the ears" looking for or reaching for readers/supporters of BS.

Seth, believe you have to be shaking your head. Just a guess.

Buc another planet in another galaxy. Hey fool did ya hear TM dissed a professor

No....... CMR is not doing. A knee jerk. Much like IC sideline outburst which was a

Preview. TM was a ME guy waiting for his ticket to be punched

No not going to fault CMR and those who provided input about cleaning house long overdue

Also understand what the message being sent with the two players who did not get tossed is

And how CJP and CTR played a part this also is part of the change going on in Athens

Go Dawgs

When has anyone called Richt soft? Overall program may not be one of the toughest, but his discipline and punishment policies certainly are. It is a fact that good, although questionable recruits will not look at UGA because of the discipline expected. Not praising or bashing Rict. Just asking where uniformity lies.

I have long said that as long as other college programs "turn their heads" to players who are constantly in trouble, UGA will suffer. There is definitely no level playing field when it come to signing and disciplining of players.

Both players have been in trouble since arriving in Athens. Harvey-Clemmon's guardian did not want him here to begin. Remember his recruitment? No player is bigger than the program nor do they deserve to be there if they detract from program. The sad part is that there are programs that will accept them after being kicked out of another program. Where are the standards?

Go ahead and keep them if you want UGA to remain Thug U. Not me.

Go Dawgs! GATA!

Pruitt and Rocker are not looking for "part time players". When we look at some that have passed throught, one in particular mentioned above by yd1, IC on the sideline. If not enough, IC with a pistol in the car with numbers removed. Good lawyer beat the case. Good on Mark Richt for releasing IC.

Matthews, what is there to say other than he did not develop this attitude once he arrived on campus in Athens. All of the high school "video" he put in, lead many of us to think that we had a serious SEC football player. He was serious, serious about things other than a good education and with his BMOC ATTITUDE.

Pruitt and Rocker know that this type of player will keep our defense in a mess. Bad attitudes tend to find their way into the others players thoughts.

My bet is this . . . . Matthews said that he had planned to leave anyway. OK. That shows just who he is. If he was leaving as he said, what was he doing disrupting a class? (Not the first time) Tried to make "small" of his actions and it did not go over with the professor. Good on the professor. Left Mark Richt with little room to wiggle. Don't know that he wanted to, but an open story such as the latest BS by Matthews forced Richt's hand. Good on Mark Richt.

There is not a doubt in my mind that Matthews would have a hard time had he stayed to get playing time in 2014. Came down to player or coach. Pruitt/Richt won this one.

grantham was allowed to run the defense his way. Same will apply to Pruitt/Rocker, Richt is an offensive coach that passed along the play calling to Mike Bobo. Pruitt is a defensive coach, do the same with Pruitt that was done with grantham, his area of expertise, and might add has been successful thus far. Get out of his/their way and we will see something "different" and maybe a whole lot better.

One more thingy. I have had enough of this 5-star business coming from the media. Coaches that know and ply their trade are not reading the media hype, they are grading these young players in high school from eyes on experience. Many times a player does not get the "stars" but put the pads on and it becomes evident that coaching experience is different than media hype.

grantham wanted "big men". Pruitt/Rocker want football players, young men that can and will play "4 quarters" in the SEC.

This young man I hope makes his way to Athens, apparently our defensive coaches want him. Defensive backs leaving and being dismissed, makes room for impressive young men like this.

Another reason for BMOC Matthews leaving Georgia.

Quincy Mauger, who started seven games and passed Matthews on the spring depth chart. Mauger had 57 tackles, which tied for the team lead among defensive backs.

A reason to be excited about the changes Pruitt will make on the defensive side of the ball. He is sending the troops, which will greatly aid the defensive backs.

Have this gut feeling that we are going to be very difficult to throw long on. Not a doubt in my mind that we will see the interceptions rise measurably. Do some fine tuning in the Fall practice, like being two deep on the defensive line which Rocker will make sure happens, all systems will be on go.

Jeremy Pruitt tried to recruit Floyd to Alabama a couple of years ago and has tweaked Georgia's defense in a way that allows Floyd to concentrate on rushing the passer from the strong-side linebacker and defensive end positions. The result, Floyd said, is less thinking and more sacking. Freed of most coverage responsibilities, he should be able to use his quickness and long arms to wreak havoc in opposing backfields.

Floyd says less thinking . . . . grantham really had these guys chasing their tails.

This has to change . . . . 8-5.

Bold comments picked up elsewhere.

Anyone think there hasn't been some serious changes with our football team and

Program. Notice that most of the fixing taking place on the defense Duh. Ya think

That's because that it was a train wreck. With the actions of those dismissed are we
