I don't think anyone can totally control these kids nowadays.....you just have to meet, discuss and educate to try to minimize these situations. It's going to happen with 18-22 year olds, like it or not.
Meh!...That's a recipe for complicity. Perhaps it MAY happen to a few, but there are plenty more that tow the line. Consider, if you will, the lowly walk-on that is willing to work his azz off just for the honor to wear the team colors. These are the no named hero's that serve their time on scout teams, being human blocking dummies for the "elites". Rare it is, if ever, that we hear of their dalliances.
Unfortunately, many of these young men have been raised within a culture of entitlement. The reality is that at some point in adulthood, their entitlement WILL end and they will face the same rules as the rest of us. IMVHO, I say the sooner, the better. Subject yourself to any lesser path and you compromise the ethics of the entire program. FTR, I believe CMR will dismiss them and I could care less if they opt to play for AllBarn. The institution is more than just football and NO amount of wins or crystal balls could ever diminish the foul taste of victory achieved through connivance!
My suggestion.....Time for the four thieves to beat feet!
