The D has to improve, if it does not we are going to be in big trouble. We need a leader to step up on that side of the ball. I look for Wilson to do just that this year. The secondary MUST play lights out and mistake free if we are to win the east. That is going to be the issue with this D. Can the secondary up thier game. The front 7 should be fine with Drew, Jenkins, Wilson, Floyd and Herrera shuting down the opposing offense.
Now the offense is a different story. We lack a leader in the mold of AM on that side of the ball. I thought Mason would be a pretty good fit but think I am wrong about that. I think he does not have what it takes to lead this offense to the point where it will score a lot of points like it did last year. The running game should be awesome and deep and if they stay injury free look out. D's will have to stack it up to shut them down and that will be good for Mason. Of course the O line is going to be an issue losing 3 off a line that was very very suspect last year. We all know it takes several games for that unit to gel and play as one. I thought Theus would be all that, again wrong about him, he is good but not great. Will the new guys step up, Sims is good but is a little slow and is suspect as to his quickness to play with the SEC's best pass rushers. We will see about him and if he is actually good enough to start as a freshman.
Overall:
The D has to improve at the least in the secondary
QB is suspect and history proves loyalty will not win games at that position.
Once again a young and inexperienced O line looms large.
Special teams needs serious work and coaching.
This team overall needs to prove it can score points and win without Aaron Murry.
Vault it for me Buc.....
