Now the offense is a different story. We lack a leader in the mold of AM on that side of the ball. I thought Mason would be a pretty good fit but think I am wrong about that. I think he does not have what it takes to lead this offense to the point where it will score a lot of points like it did last year. The running game should be awesome and deep and if they stay injury free look out. D's will have to stack it up to shut them down and that will be good for Mason. Of course the O line is going to be an issue losing 3 off a line that was very very suspect last year. We all know it takes several games for that unit to gel and play as one. I thought Theus would be all that, again wrong about him, he is good but not great. Will the new guys step up, Sims is good but is a little slow and is suspect as to his quickness to play with the SEC's best pass rushers. We will see about him and if he is actually good enough to start as a freshman.
Overall:
The D has to improve at the least in the secondary
QB is suspect and history proves loyalty will not win games at that position.
Once again a young and inexperienced O line looms large.
Special teams needs serious work and coaching.
This team overall needs to prove it can score points and win without Aaron Murry.
Vault it for me Buc.....

Really, who on paper looks any stronger in the East?
I don't know. Maybe I'm crazy. I can see us finishing 11 and 2 or maybe 12 and 2.
I don't think we play that fifthteenth game.

Like you, I have some thoughts about the offensive line. Isaiah Wynn in my opinion will be a starter at guard before the end of the 2014 Season. Would not be surprised to see Will Friend move him to center next season (2015), or some this season. He likes running into linebackers. Lots of folks in Central Florida disappointed to see him sign on with UGA.
Think I have made it pretty clear who I like at quarterback. Another reason for liking Faton Bauta is the fact he has "wheels". Makes that defensive end playing over our left tackle change some things. Still not sure about the left tackle. Like our center and also have liked Kublanow from the start. Kublanow and Isaiah Wynn both are nasty, very much alike. Sims will end up playing on the left side, he is a bad boy also.
One more thing about Faton, have said it before in other threads . . . . arm strength is not an issue. My problem still remains with the coaching habits. Like what Pruitt brings to Athens, best man wins the job. Hurt feelings do not win football games. Not being ugly, just expressing what I see and hear.
Has been said that the depth at linebacker might cost Ramik Wilson some snaps. When we look closely at that, it is a very good thing. Even Ramik Wilson can use a breather. Also, builds depth for the future. There are some universities that do that and it has paid off handsomely for them. Don't have to say who. ogredawg, you were real high on Carter last season, this year you will be proven right.

averagedawg you and I both know that the talent is in Athens. Something about this Pruitt fellow that has caught my attention. Success has a way of rubbing off on those that stand close enough and are willing to drop the "I's and me's". Our team has been out of sorts for a while, but it was evident that the recent defensive coordinator would not bend. Reason enough for his quick departure. There was definitely a cloud hanging over UGA football. Press conferences don't hide what many of us know to be the truth.
averagedawg, this 2014 team has too many positives not to be considered the best in the East. Totally agree with that statement.
