Defense: While excited about Pruitt, I don't see us becoming a FSU defense this year. The front 7 will be really good but believe the secondary will still be suspect EVEN though Pruitt is coaching them up. He has a BUNCH of "teaching" to do there and believe it won't come together in the secondary until next year.

Overall the D will be better than last year though.


Offense: Mason will not come close to being an AM but imo he doesn't need to. Bobo just needs him to manage the game and have Mason get the ball into our playmaker's hands. He is an above average QB that can get the job done with the supporting cast that he has around him.

Overall the offense won't score as much as last year but "should" score enough to win ballgames with an improved D.


ST's: Another improvement over last year but not as good as we will be in coming years. Should be solid enough improvement to at least not lose games for us single handedly. Kicker should continue to be very good, punting needs work and return game needs huge improvement not only on returns, but CATCHING the ball. Believe we will be at a "satisfactory" level this year on ST's.


I think we can win the East but not get into the final 4.....hope I'm wrong about the final 4.

Haven't heard a lot about Mike Ekeler from the media and elsewhere.

Allow me to pass this along. Mike Ekeler learned a lot from Bo Pelini as an assistant at LSU and Nebraska.

Lavonte David was coached up by Mike Ekeler while at Nebraska. Lavonte plays for Tampa Bay and he is one heck of a linebacker. Gives much credit to Mike for his development. Mike is a no nonsense coach, no doubt in my mind that those under him on Special Teams will play head and shoulders above anything we have seen recently.

Sometimes young men think of Special Teams as a downgrade. Lavonte David listened to Mike, both on Special Teams and at linbacker. Lavonte David is an all pro linebacker, and very intense. Many Falcon fans on this board, probably some of you have watched Lavonte when the teams meet.

Excellent hire, and Mike Ekeler breathes fire, just like Pruitt. Also understands how to coach 'em up. There will be a huge improvement in 2014 on Special Teams. Any of you guys have a "vault", put this in there for safe keeping.

Hutson Mason will be better than some on this board are willing to admit. It will only be Joe Cox because of the situation, not the results. FB may be better, but Mason will be fine.

The defense will be much improved... not top 10 level improved, but last season we ended up tied for 78th in the nation in scoring defense at 29 ppg allowed. Look for that to improve to something more like 20-25th at 22-24 point range.

UGA will finish the season at abouts a 12-2 mark. Looking at the schedule I don't see one game we are not capable of winning, but we will find a way to lose 1 during the regular season and we will lose in the SECCG.

I feel like the defense will be improved. Don't know about the offense, this is pretty much the year bobo has to prove himself. He's done alright by me but we've had some great guys playing on that side of the ball the past few seasons.

I think we will more than likely lose a game maybe 2 that we shouldn't, won't go to the sec championship, and will be having the same discussions in the off season that we have had for awhile now.


As long as mark resides in Athens, I will refuse to get pumped up in the offseason. I have drank too much koolaid won't make the same mistakes.

I like what I see on the defensive side, but have said it before, trying recently not to be too ugly . . . . Just leave Pruitt and his group alone.
