Buc, I don't know where these guys come from.............most likley a Tech or UT boy.

Pruitt could end up being the worst coach ever at UGA--we don't know. All we can go on is what he has done and his demeanor and those seem pretty good.

Scooby, go have another scooby snack.

Shannon, sometimes folks like to make believe. Many have never played the game, and for sure have not coached the game. Too easy to read and separate the knowledge from the BS. Sometimes it is just trying to be "one of the guys" and not knowing how to relate.

Richt is a joke. Period. An average coach which is why we are an average sec team.

Won't get a special teams coach, wouldn't fire TG after this past season, he accepts being a middle of the pack sec team as long as our guys are going to church every Sunday.

I've already said I appreciate what Richt has done, but the game has passed him by, would love to see him retire with dignity than being forced to retire like Mack brown.

Time was I didn't want to hire smart bc he wasn't proven. Fact of the matter is even though he hasn't proven himself to be a successful head coach he has proven to be a successful DC, he needs a shot and what better place than a recruiting gold mine like UGA?

We have the players, we don't have the HC. Period.

Bulldawg2010, agree with much you say.

The only thing I'll disagree a little on is the ST coach. From what I hear the main crap the ST coach would do is set time, place, overall philosophy, etc.

I hear that on campuses where they have a ST coach that is about all they do, they still use a few coaches to get the job done.

The only thing I would change is have CMR treat it like it's 1/3rd the game, use starters on ST, and make it a point of pride throughout the ADept. If he precahes it daily, speaks of it as much as he does off and def, it can get better.

I'll take a ST coach. But we can be good in ST whether we have one in title or not.

Tired of seeing guys making tackles at the 40 who don;t even have a name on their jersey.

JJ Green running down on kicks??? yes.
Brenden Douglas flying down on punt team? bring it.

Someone can help me hear if my memory is off, but wasn't it Thomas Davis getting hurt on special teams that stopped CMR from using them?

I actually like the discussion about what makes a coordinator successful or not when trying to
move up the HC level.

scooby just needs to leave the MR support alone... that's not going to fly well around here, lol

Actually, I don't even know why MR was brought up while comparing Muschamp, Smart, and Pruit. The MR we want gone today is not the same MR from the year 2000. A lot of water has passed under that bridge. The game often passes by coaches. Coaches often lose their fire. Coaches often have their message grow stale after a number of years.
That's the Richt of today we talk about. If we could turn back the clock we would probably admit we
felt different about Richt during years 2000-2005, maybe even 00-07. During those first years we
were not calling MR a flop like we have so far with a guy like Muschamp.

It's really apples and oranges to compare our feelings about Richt after 8-14 years (depending on when you realized Richt wasn't going to take us any further) to young guys who have not had their shot yet.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Can't remember if that happened with TD.

I also agree with you from the standpoint especially of playing starters and maybe making it a "tradition" of sorts....an honor etc.

I thought a couple of years ago when we were struggling on ST's covering kickoffs and punts, that CMR started using his starters and it DID improve quickly. Maybe he needs 11 starters out there.

Actually, this year the problems were more mechanical imo.....snapper problems, slow punter and a returner that can't catch the dang ball (totally a coaching screw up on that area....Davis dropped it during the season and in the bowl, two punts later they put Davis BACK in to receive another punt which fortunately was kicked away from him). Those should be easily correctable.

Yes...not rocket science though.....use experienced players.

Do believe he is using starters on special teams though but how many, I have no idea.
