DC and OF moving to HC

Hard to tell who can do it. Will Muschamp had number one d at LSU under ns and they won the nc. went with him to dolphins. Went to texas to be groomed for that head job. Fianlly got the head spot at Florida. He looked like a cant miss guy. Yelled a lot and was instense. Gotta love that yelling. But the team had a bad year. How could this guy miss. He coached under the master and did well. Not so well as the hc.

Mark Richt had good stuff at fsu. coordinated a top offence on a nc team. Coach two qb's that won heisman. Not well loved because no nc's and loosing to lesser team... Done pretty good in my opinion.

Todd Grantham didnt work out to well. Looking back when he was hired this was a happy time. This was the guy who could do it. I read lots of folks comparing him to erk, maybe even givng him the nodd.

The new uga def coor and ks both look a lot like will muschamp in their career paths.Very cabable Defensive Coordiaters under succesful head coaches. Both worked with the master.

Looking at how things have gone for wm and mr, what is different about the new cant miss guys.Why will they be succesful when wm and MR (I think hes done fine)have not met expectaions.

of course there is a chance JP doesn't work out. But to say JP and Muschamp are the same guy is nuts.

There are differences.

1. One seems to be a teacher while the other seems to be a order barker.
2. One is known as a better recruiter than the other.
3. One seems to be a little more humble and respectful of the programs he's been affiliated with vs the one who took cheap shots at his former school just to gain brownie points. No need for that. I wouldn;t respect JP if he took shots at FSU now that he's gone.


Also, we don't know for sure that WM will not work out. No doubt when healthy the UF defense is a beast; watch out if WM ever gets the right people running the offensive side of the ball.

There are no guarantees on anything. If you want to speculate, you talk about the guys that fit the profile like Smart and CJP.

As far as success goes once those guys get the chance, it's a question of the right man meeting the right opportunity. Muschamp and UF haven't seemed to be the right man or the right opportunity.

So simply by the fact that Muschamp has already failed, you already have to like Smart and CJP's chances better at initial success when they get the chance.That could change though... WM is still on the job so his fate isn't sealed yet.

Smart definitely seems like a better bet simply because he seems more than patient enough to wait on the right opportunity and timing to take his shot. He is also learning from the best... not so sure Muschamp can say the same.

CJP... I didn't know who he was before his FSU gig... I don't know if he is he next HC hot commodity. We'll know in a couple of years.
All I care about right now is him being a better DC than the last guy.

Living a bit closer to the subject in Florida can say this. Muschamp got away with a lot of his sideline manner in Austin, he was responsible for the defense. Brought his package to Gainesville, but he had serious flaws. The same flaws that richt brought with him from Tallahassee. Did not know how to hire the right people for the "entire team". Check Muschamp's hires and fires, and those that left voluntarily. Muschamp knew how to coach one (1) aspect of the game, defense.

Again, living in Florida and knowing a few folks down this way . . . . what Muschamp said on the green bean circuit, was nothing more than inexperience and as Shannon said . . . . parking his nose in the wrong place.
