McGarity has this to say . . . .

“Any position that we have here needs to be justified,” McGarity said. “You don’t add a position just because so-and-so has 10 more than you do. You don’t just add it to keep up with your competition. What are these people gonna do? Discuss their role, and then you go from there. And that’s across the board for any sport here, and any position. There’s got to be a justification process, and there can’t be School A has this, and you don’t have that. ...“If you’re living in a comparative world, it’s a hard place to be. Tell us what you need, we’ll provide that, and then we’ll move forward."

Why did I keep having the thought of Alabama come into my head? They apparently have extra hands on deck, don't seem to be violating NCAA Rules (whatever those are). Whatever Alabama did or is doing seems to put more Crystal in the Palace.

McGarity says tell us what you need, we'll provide that, and then we'll move forward. Think it is not move forward, more like move on from all I can gather.

Pruitt hire has the group back on their high horses. All is well, now McGarity says we can move on. Discussion ends with the Athletic Director. Yes sir!

Edit: Looking around the internet and found this after posting.

I just love the fact that someone knows ST is an area of dire concern.

If the staff had been left intact after this past season, the most we could hope for would he MR going to Barnes and Noble to buy a copy of "Punting for Dummies".

Last week there was some conversation on this board about the new hirings on our defense coming together.

If you haven't read the article below, it pretty much verifies what we discussed about coaches "understanding" each others approaches to the game.

Another little nugget if you have a few minutes. First time I have watched this particular video. So much more here for us to latch on to. Different than reading what some on the pay sites want to feed us.

Old fart like me wants to grab his "leather helmet" and get involved. :)

Edit: Another point to be made. Jimbo Fisher/Jeremy Pruitt coached FSU to a win over Auburn. Nick Saban/Kirby Smart did not. That actually is not "trash talk", it is a simple case of what solid coaching in a short period of time is capable of.

mark richt/todd grantham, lost cause, would never have reached the level of the above group. Think maybe richt needed help in the worse way, I do. Has to play out, but I think the odds of our defense being better greatly improved with some of the coaches that I see heading in our direction. Haven't seen one of the coaches "chewing gum" . . . . yet. grantham probably grabbed the chewing gum on his way out. Damn sure glad he is gone.

Edit: Lifted the following quote from Kimberley Nash, aka The Lady Sportswriter.

From one of Kimberley's followers.

There is an old saying I wholeheartedly subscribe to: I’d rather shoot@something and miss it, than to shoot@nothing and hit it.

CJP seems to live by the former while another ex- UGA coach seemed to prefer the latter.
