Good Morning All,

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas, we sincerely did.

DwS have no fear Georgia was bite for bite with me destroying the holiday goodies.

I will have to spend some OT on the treadmill after the New Year’s Fact!

Yes like all of us I would like a NC or a SEC title. Be nice to play in a BCS bowl also.

But speaking for myself at the moment there are no major shadows hanging over our program A very good thing

We may have slipped to a second tier but we are what we are without any fear of an asterisk next to our name in the college record books

To that end MR runs a clean program to his credit He is being tested again

I know we have a drug policy that is at a higher level than most of the other colleges but those who come here know that.

There is a hard attitude by local law enforcement not to cut any

Slack toward our athletes. Again this is a known.

UGA student conduct policy is pretty straight forward with very few
gray areas.

Yes it would be great if the SEC had the same policy across the board Sadly it does not I for one am glad we lead rather than follow

The Ole Miss program and CHF are starting to hear some grossing about

Promises made not being kept. This is a story waiting to happen

Many recruits came with promises to family

Repeating what was said earlier by me and others.

I would not exchange our issues for any others schools

Over the holiday I enjoyed a conversation about what would happen

If a Boone Pickens type would show up in Athens supporting the Dawg’s
Program?

Bags full of new money and who didn't like mahogany or our current

Coaches. Share your thoughts if you like

Pause and give thanks

Have a great weekend and a safe week

As always “Go Dawgs”

Go Dawgs!

Couple of things that can be said.

Money has or will show up soon from the newly crowned media outlet for SEC football. Believe the name is Disney, or its operating channel(s) ESPN. Not a lot different than Mr. Pickens. What is it that both are supporting, that is if we get real? College Football, especially in the Southeast. College football not nearly as popular in other parts of the country.

Proud to be a leader, not a follower. Can buy that. Do have one problem with that scenario. The same commissioner that worked this deal with M&M, strutting like a peacock, proud of his accomplishment. Amazes me how Slive can negotiate a “money deal this size” but have a problem with negotiating an evenly laid out playing field for “all” of the teams in the SEC. Guess money is one thing, education another.

I also buy into the “middle of the pack” if that is where the majority of the supporters of our University of Georgia want to play for. Haven’t heard too many voices in Sanford Stadium approving that way of going about our business.

Anyone think that these young folks playing football in the SEC are going to give up some of their “habits”? Guess it would be like the rest of us that find our way to the local liquor store, purchasing our favorite libration. Family traits are hard to break, are they not? Just saying.

Here is hoping that calling a high inside fastball on one team is also called on the opponent. Can and does have bearing on what the Win/Loss Record looks like at the end of the season.

Wishing all Happy Trails and a prosperous New Year.

Since posting this morning, have been on the internet looking and reading everything that I can concerning UGA football.

Being around and close to the program once upon a time, think at this point, less interest in the JAX football game than any post season game I can remember. Actually believe there was more "interest" if we want to call it that for the game in Memphis.

By the way, see where UCF is in the Fiesta Bowl playing Baylor. Art Briles has done a great job of coaching the Baylor Bears. Did I say Baylor Bears, and we are talking college football? Head coach has brought the Bears along nicely.

UCF has steadily gotten better, and they can only seat 45/50 thousand in their new on campus stadium. Knights getting stronger and stronger, picking up many top athletes to sign on.

As Head Coach George O'Leary mentions . . . .
"It's something everyone at UCF is excited about, the administration, the fan base," Knights coach George O'Leary said. "Anytime you have a first in anything, people get very excited, but especially when you're invited to a bowl like the Fiesta."

Took all South Carolina could do to get past UCF. So here we are playing in the Gator Bowl, against Nebraska, don't seem to hear or feel the excitement mounting. The Group in Athens has been working the media, trying to build "something". Somehow it's just not registering with the "supporters" of the UGA football team.

Sour grapes, don't think so. Just looking at what is going on elsewhere with schools that don't have the "tradition" or "financial where with all" that my University of Georgia has, and has had for many years.

Guess it goes back to that statement I read year after year . . . . "Get'em Next Year".

If I have misrepresented the facts, easy to say so. If there is something to be said, please allow me this . . . . no excuses, be real.

I will say this, and use a different tone . . . . Go Dawgs, COACH'em up! I said that, and believe it is the missing factor in Athens.

Buc, don't believe Neb is all that excited about playing either.....nor their fans.

Imo, only one player on the field will be excited for sure......Hutson Mason.

That's GOOD for us.

ogredawg, I guess what is bothering me is what I read folks on the internet saying, all will be ok next season. That could very well be true, not a lack of talent in Athens (players).

Something else that does not sit well with me is when I watch the press conferences with our head coach. Nothing is actually said or asked, that falls on the folks that carry the press passes in that room.

With the time that I can allow myself to research and go over many of the pressers from the past, our head coach has the majority of the beat boys, beaten down.

There is a day coming when I will say to hell with all of this, go back to Tuna fishing offshore, become a civilized human being again.

The one person that had it right from the beginning was kentdaddy. You were not far behind, and sadlerdawg in my mind has always wanted a change. He chose at one point to do as I did, not to the extent that I did, but he eased up a bit.

I will probably never get this point across, but having a background in the media, press conferences, boards that carry much more traffic than some, along with holding folks feet to the fire, just don't see it in Athens.

If I really tell the absolute truth, I dropped out after what VD and the Group did to Erk. Think that is pretty clear by my avatar.

Our current head coach brought some change, much like what we see with the transition going on now at Auburn. The scary part of what is going on with Auburn, it has just started, and it will carry a bucket full of water for several years to come.

If Auburn wins the NC, what the hell does that say for UGA? Many say on the internet that we let Marshall get away. Drives me nuts. Nick Marshall would never have played quarterback at UGA. Stop it, get away from the excuses.

As I see our course in Athens, pretty much like what we are witnessing in Austin, Texas. One huge, HUGE difference . . . . money is not an object in Austin. In Athens, scrooge(s) control the coin. Want to play with the big boys, McGarity better do what I am told he is going to do, soon.

Yep, getting a belly full, and life can be simplier for me. Some of the younger folks need to be stronger than I was for so many years . . . . those that run the show have to be accountable.

EDIT: Sorry about the ramble for this reason . . . . seems every year this happens here. Folks have a lot to say during the season, then disappear. OK with me, can talk to myself, hell, do it all the time, comes with age. :)

Want the Athens Group to understand, shut mouths won't get either of us there. Anyone want to make bets on the final four next season? Going to start a thread soon, choosing who the final four . . . . "might be".
