ogredawg, I guess what is bothering me is what I read folks on the internet saying, all will be ok next season. That could very well be true, not a lack of talent in Athens (players).
Something else that does not sit well with me is when I watch the press conferences with our head coach. Nothing is actually said or asked, that falls on the folks that carry the press passes in that room.
With the time that I can allow myself to research and go over many of the pressers from the past, our head coach has the majority of the beat boys, beaten down.
There is a day coming when I will say to hell with all of this, go back to Tuna fishing offshore, become a civilized human being again.
The one person that had it right from the beginning was kentdaddy. You were not far behind, and sadlerdawg in my mind has always wanted a change. He chose at one point to do as I did, not to the extent that I did, but he eased up a bit.
I will probably never get this point across, but having a background in the media, press conferences, boards that carry much more traffic than some, along with holding folks feet to the fire, just don't see it in Athens.
If I really tell the absolute truth, I dropped out after what VD and the Group did to Erk. Think that is pretty clear by my avatar.
Our current head coach brought some change, much like what we see with the transition going on now at Auburn. The scary part of what is going on with Auburn, it has just started, and it will carry a bucket full of water for several years to come.
If Auburn wins the NC, what the hell does that say for UGA? Many say on the internet that we let Marshall get away. Drives me nuts. Nick Marshall would never have played quarterback at UGA. Stop it, get away from the excuses.
As I see our course in Athens, pretty much like what we are witnessing in Austin, Texas. One huge, HUGE difference . . . . money is not an object in Austin. In Athens, scrooge(s) control the coin. Want to play with the big boys, McGarity better do what I am told he is going to do, soon.
Yep, getting a belly full, and life can be simplier for me. Some of the younger folks need to be stronger than I was for so many years . . . . those that run the show have to be accountable.
EDIT: Sorry about the ramble for this reason . . . . seems every year this happens here. Folks have a lot to say during the season, then disappear. OK with me, can talk to myself, hell, do it all the time, comes with age.
Want the Athens Group to understand, shut mouths won't get either of us there. Anyone want to make bets on the final four next season? Going to start a thread soon, choosing who the final four . . . . "might be".
