Asking a question in a thread that LimeyDawg started this thread with.
First things first, don't be mislead by LimeyDawg. If you have been around this board long enough, he understands. Calls it with the best. Silent type. Understands American Football.
Did not get a lot of response for post #20.
My question is this, and if you read and post would like to see where you are by name with our defense.
I believe that Grantham has had a free hand at running the defensive side of the ball. Mark Richt has said that, without saying that. Hope that is understandable.
I have been the outspoken one saying that I like keeping a staff together. Have always like stability. Still do, always will. My bad in this case. One thing for sure, stability may have been carried "too far". Hope that also makes sense.
Have to come off of my stance with Todd Grantham. He is not a leader, he is a "position" coach. Which "position", can't answer that.
Mark Richt will try to smooth things over in Athens, that is his MO. If there is not drastic change in Athens, we will go over the same "stuff" we went through a couple of years ago.
Whether or not you are a AM fan, does anyone at this point think that he won't be missed next season? It is no longer about talent, it is about coaching the talent.
Grantham, you are not a "whiz" you are a position coach, me thinks. One loss did not bring this on, you have been "suspect" for some time. Simple fact, voices get louder, and they are heard in higher places. If not, empty seats suddenly appear, that does not pay expenses.
Realize in the coming days we will hear about how we are going back to the drawing board, players are playing hard, coaches . . . . ? One thing that I have noticed and don't like, we don't hear much from our defensive coaches, those that carry out TG's instructions. Am I seeing fear from those that work for the defensive leader or what?
yd1 and myself have asked more than once about Lakatos. Seldom do we hear anything from Olivadotti. Have always liked "Sunshine" in the room.
Will this be just another time that "coaching" takes a precedence over talent?
What say you, say you when it comes down to brass tacks.
