"The freedom of individuals to verbally to oppose or to challenge police actions without thereby risking arrest is one of the principal characteristics by which we distinguish a free nation from a police state."
I have a question was created by LimeyDawg
I never played football, so I need the help of some of you who have to improve my understanding of the game.
When the quarterback is not on the field, the players are called the 'defense.'
My understanding of the term "defense" is something meant to stop something else from happening. Am I correct?
If I'm correct, shouldn't our defense at least be trying to stop the opposing team from scoring? If I'm missing something, would somebody please help me out here.

This is an NFL defense....
After exhaustive research, ai have discovered that mean "NOT EFFFIN LONG".
Seriously... okay, I admit I've had a couple of adult beverages, but up yours CTG. Up yours.
Your defense can not cover, can not tackle, and often can not even line up properly. On every big play by the opponent, they look like they know what you're calling.
Oh and before you even go there... what about last year when you had 7 NFL draft picks?
Seriously... what the hell is going on out there ?
Oh don't worry ... it was totally a rhetorical question.

Maybe this is piling on, but have always thought when mistakes were made, someone had to step up and take ownership. When we can accept the high fives and slaps on the back, same holds true when we need to face those that might have things to say that are less than complimentary.
Anyone notice that someone very close to our coaching and game planning is missing from this video?
Read in another thread that Richt might have taken the piss and vinegar out of Grantham's style of coaching. Could be, if so then it would appear to me that Is Richt now protecting Grantham from the onslaught.
I, like the rest of you know that this team is injured.
With the depth that we supposedly have built on defense, can't excuse much of what I saw against Missouri on the defensive side.
Old saying . . . . You can run, but you can't hide. Not true, defensive coordinator hid in this group of videos. Sad.

Edit: Looking around a bit further did find this. Not quite sure what I heard and how much bearing it had on the same problems occurring each game. I did hear a lot of coach speak from TG.

Finding it very hard to swallow what TG is saying, maybe I should be more accurate . . . . not saying. Having traveled to many blogs this morning, this is a sampling of what I am reading.
Copied from another site . . . .
Yes, you can expect mistakes when you have to start a bunch of freshmen in the secondary, but the fact that Georgia’s defensive backs not only have shown no progress in recent games, but seem to have regressed, is really disturbing. And it’s not just the young D-backs. Veteran Damian Swann had another rough game.
Said it in the hot thread yesterday . . . . Herrera cannot cover anyone coming across the middle. At this point, I forget about class rankings, seniors and freshman, I reward those than can do. We traveled that path not long ago.
