Buc wrote: Dawg With Style, figure Gurley wearing the boot and returning to the field says a lot about the injury. If it was ligament damage, no way he comes back out and walks around.
Sprains are sometimes worse than other injuries, hard to heal, especially around the ankle and foot. Weight bearing joints.
Gurley needs to stay on the sideline until the ankle heals, none of the "speedy" return stuff that he might try to do. Gurley has a great future ahead, he is a smart young man, just has to use those "smarts".
This is 100% truth. ^^^^
Remember that he was testing his cutting ability prior to going into the training room. That means that even though he was in pain, he was still thinking it might not be bad enough to stay out of the game. He was jogging on it a lot. To me, there is no need to cave in to the temptation to get a "quick recovery", when we have AT LEAST 3 guys behind him who are more than capable of "totin' that rock". That will give Gurley plenty of time to get it to 100%. I'd rather keep him out at 90% than put him in and have it drop to 0%.
Don't know about anyone else, but I'm pretty happy. Amazing what a big win can do for the mood.
Talk about Murray being unable to "win big games" has to go into the toilet where other such material belongs. Florida, Nebraska, South Carolina, LSU . . . we can flush the "can't win big games" toilet right now.

Might be that Alvin Kamara needs to understand that a program like Saban is running does not bend or change. Always had thoughts that Kamara was a bit too self centered. Not real good for team chemistry. I, me, my guys will always sit under Saban, regardless of how good they think "they are". Every year Saban can entice some great high school running back to move to Tuscaloosa. Don't see that changing in the near future.
Understand that another highly recruited linebacker is unhappy not being #1. Speaks to the way the program is handled, that includes coaches and players. The only coach that I am aware of that Saban "worked on" to stay is Kirby Smart. "Smart" move by Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator. Soon that will come to an end. JMO.

duck wrote: Buc, you don't have to leave this site, if I can't defend my self, this I'll be glad to leave this site. Look at my profile, I have been a member of this board since 1969. So you can say what you want, call me a non supporter, it does not matter you know nothing about me. I think you said we'd beat Clemson by 14 and other on here said it would be a blowout. Like I said lots on here see things with rose colored glasses. Does not matter, I'll leave, for it is a shame that I have to get blasted for seeing faults that are there with the team that others refuse to admit. I stated twice, my post was done when I thought we had lost, I admitted I should have waited until the game was over, and I have received no feed back from you on that, just continued criticism.
Steve please remove me from site I have been a member of since 1969
Did the internet exist in 1969? stevedawg - you are quite the visionary, but I never knew just how far ahead of your time you are!
duck - I don't think anyone on this site, including me or Buc, would blast you for seeing faults in a team you care about. I see 'em, Buc sees 'em, wlayton sees 'em - everyone does. The difference is this - we don't continually b1tch about 'em. Especially after a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE win . . . we like to CELEBRATE and HAVE FUN and dish out a little something we call "praise" when we see a TOUGH JOB done WELL!!! The complaining and bellyaching isn't necessary. We'll talk about deficiencies and how WE would "fix" them (it's called Monday morning quarterbacking, and we are all pro at that). But none of us is going to have a pain in our gut after this magnificent win, and it just seems like having cold water poured over the FIRE, when we come in here to enjoy it and one of the first reactions we see is fault finding. It just doesn't make sense.
Instead of leaving, why not just have a little FUN?!

Think I read in another place that Georgia is now listed as #6. AP poll. Goes along with what ogredawg posted earlier, commenting on what Mark May said yesterday. Georgia is the best one loss team in the country.
Will Friend, find and get the signature of a left tackle. Would mean so much to next years team.

Also as thriller stated we just came off prolly the biggest win in I don't know how long, no one wants to read about why we looked bad on d. In all honesty it doesn't matter why our d looked bad we got the win. I may regret saying those words at a later date but as of right now I don't think there is a team in the country that can stop our offense including bama, they would have fits.
I just think you have unrealistic expectations when it comes to a young d. You gotta realize that there are alot of players playing on the field this year that didn't play much if not at all last year.
Give it some time duck.
