I have another thought about the upcoming season? Do you bench AM if he struggles in the first half against Clemson. His track record is not that good in big games. He is a good QB but sometimes I think the pressure gets to him. HM has a different personality all together maybe a change would be good. Anyhow it's just a thought wondering about all your thoughts.

CD= welcome

3000yds passing three years in a row pushing 40 points avg per game and his showing both in the SECCG and our bowl

You don't bench a QB that has beat UF two years in a row taken care of Assburn,UT and the Nerds

Ask yourself SECCG or playing a ACC wanna bee like Clemson Nope I want AM under center a little help from his defense and we would

have played ND for the NC HM gets his chance next year. Just like Shock did playing behind DG

He is a great QB and team player no doubt. Were on a three game losing streak against SC and when your losing to them it's not good. Just thinking some change might be good. If need be.

carolina dawg, no doubting that AM's juices run high early on in some games.

yd1 makes a good point about "team play". When AM took over the job as quarterback, it is not like our offensive side of the ball was all that. Moving linemen back and forth from offense to defense. Shifting line positions throughout the year, along with having to "teach" our backs the play book on game day, on the field. Changing offensive line coaches. More to that than just inserting a name.

This is the season that I think we see just how much AM means to Georgia football. Competition, from the beginning and on Clemson's field. South Carolina we play at home with what is and will continue to be the headline theme . . . . Clowney. Media hype for that game between the "Hedges" will be off the boards in televsion ratings.

If we take the time to look at what SS has assembled in Columbia, one heck of a defense, two better than average quarterbacks. South Carolina in the early ratings sitting at #6, takes more than one player and one coach to reach those lofty ratings.

Soon thereafter, LSU. Don't care what anyone says, LSU is not and will not line up and play dead. They have athletes, and Metternburger will come to Athens and try to play the "game of his life". Their head coach, Les Miles, totally unpredictable. Has worked to his advantage more than once. Some like to play the dumb card when discussing Miles. At the end of the day, check his win/loss record and the competition he faced getting those wins.

Back to AM. Young man spent this entire summer in Athens "coaching and teaching" the larger portion of the "starters" the way our coaches want them to play. Fact. That will pay huge dividends this year and after AM has gone to the NFL. Football players and teams are not different than you and I . . . . Creatures of Habit. From where I sit, AM has had a good effect on Georgia Football for a long time to come. I like to call it "commitment" a term that is often lost with too many football programs throughout the country.

Have to say this . . . . Saban/Smart have understood "commitment" longer than those chasing Alabama, peddling hard in some cases trying to catch up. Facts are facts.

Clemson is a game that our football team, players and coaches have pointed toward long before now. A lot of "coach speak" came out of Athens about "other things". Clemson, frankly they have been "studied" since the end of last season by our coaches, soon after the return from Orlando. Now the test comes on the 31st.

yd1, when the spread is that close, not like our players and coaches are not aware. Good motivational tool . . . . "if needed".

CD, as I thought in the SC game last year, if Murray struggles, I would sit him for a series or two to re-focus. I know I'm in the minority, but I think it helps. If you're asking would I suggest he lose his starting job, not in a million years.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

Don't really know if there is a good formula for AM. Never know if you don't try different things.

Again, glad to see him surrounded with "some stability". Been a long time coming, me thinks. He will not change, he will try and fit the football into tight areas. Fear of not accomplishing is not in AM's gray matter. Yes he will take off "scrambling" for yardage if need be this season. Hope he has learned to get down.

Tarkenton was one of the originators of scrambling, built his reputation on scrambling. Sure as heck did not have the arm that AM has.

Here again I hope that those that do and don't care for AM as a quarterback realize how much he has given of "himself" to our program. Sometimes takes a while for talents to be recognized. Sometimes, could be years.

Guarantee all that the players know that AM is the leader, they will go to the wall for him. That alone could be the reason that there is such an "up beat" feeling with the "football players" this season. Any corporation or larger group, regardless of the task at hand, must have a leader. We have that, and there is a large group of football players that dress out on Saturdays that know they have that person . . . . both offensively and defensively, AM effects both sides of the ball.

Some folks know they have to work harder than the "natural talents". Not every quarterback is going to be a John Elway or Payton Manning down the road. AM comes closer to Payton Manning than any quarterback I have watched on the college level, when discussing "preparation". Both know that preparation is the way to win games. No AM does not have Payton's height, neither does Drew Brees, both have the same number of Super Bowl Rings. Reason . . . . preparation has a lot to do with winning.

Preparation applies to coaches as well as players. Georgia has had a "spotty record" with their coaches for a long period of time. Just dial in after the National Championship and look at some of the hires, even up to a few short years back.

The "Bear" had the formula many years past, now Saban (or Satan) as some like to tag him has the formula today.

Say it again. Nick Saban understands the need not only for preparation, he knows how to win the "talent game". Fact. Why has Saban progressed so far since leaving the Dolphins? I like to think it is his hiring and personal coaching skills. Some like to say he pushes the "rules" to the edge. Name me one coach that does not "try" and take advantage of the rules". Yes, that includes Mark Richt.

If you are reading this post, read carefully, garbage is not being thrown at Richt. He in my opinion has changed his approach to coaching, yes I know, sounds like a broken record. Don't believe that Todd Grantham would be our Defensive Coordinator if Mark Richt was the same coach that had Willie Martinez and others on his staff. My opinion. Change is not a bad thing, however, stability means so much.

Anyone on this board think that we (Georgia/UGA) is a better organization than maybe 3, 4, 5 years ago?

Can only speak for myself. When McGarity and Grantham came on board, I see changes, major changes. Some like to see overnight results, if you don't believe that, check the AJC reporters out. Not the stupid chatter of those that like to be "First".

Soon we will get to see just what has changed with the players and coaches.

Allow me this. If for some reason Hutson Mason replaced AM in the Clemson game or any game on our schedule, moved the ball and put Georgia in a good position, or scored a touchdown. Not one of you would be happier or louder than me. I really don't play silly AJC games on the internet.

Jesse Outlar and Furman Bisher, you are missed.
