Agreed! Always nice to hear what a new poster is feelin bout them Dawgs...betcha Buc feels the same way
Really enjoyed reading everybody's stories in this thread, as for me:
I'm with Sadlerdawg! I'm a homer, always have been, always will be.
Love them Braves & Falcons, always rooting for the Hawks too.
My old man left GA & went to Auburn back in 1957 but I grew up in Newnan, GA & with family roots in the Savannah area, all my kin folks were sporting Red & Black which was mixed in with some Navy & White after a man named Erk came to town & made GaSo. a National powerhouse.
Besides, I had just turned 2 yrs. old at the start of that glorious 1980 season. Now I can't say for certain that I 100% remember hearing that raspy voice come through the AM radio in the Fall of 80 but I darn well know some of my absolute earliest childhood memories are of Larry speaking & me smiling. Dooley's Dawgs led by the Goal line Stalker were the talk of the town, not just in Newnan, but in the whole entire state! I swear in probably half of the thousands of pics my Mom has of me from birth til present day I have on AT LEAST 1 article of UGA gear.
My older Sister & I used to attempt bodily harm during football season with me on my big bad UGA beanbag & loser beside me on her butt ugly Auburn trashbag. By the time my dad took me to my first game at Sanford to see Ray Goff's 1st win over Baylor on 9/16/89 I could already sic em & woof with the best of em. I guess you could say that UGA was my 1st true love.
As fate would have it, last Aug. I married a misguided Georgia Peach who became an Auburn grad (can't escape em!)
& I love her dearly. Still, she knows very well that the Dawgs have owned a big ol piece of my heart for a long, long time now. She also knows that the best 13 Saturdays of the yr. are right around the corner & even though she will be rooting for the losing team come Nov. I can already tell she really likes the view of 92,000 brothers & sisters in red from Sec. 326...right near where the banners of past Bulldog glory fly
I will soon raise our UGA-AU house divided flag up on the flagpole directly over my stone carved Uga statue that keeps the vermin away. I just picked up a new Georgia thermos yesterday because I can hear the coming sounds of Fall in the distant with pads a popping & opponents dropping. I am ready to join the entire Bulldog Nation on a march to glory & redemption. I want to carve up a piece of 3 Tigers this yr. but I think I want to fry some Gamechickens even more. I hope to bag my limit of Gators & I always enjoy swatting down those pesky Yellow Jackets. I am as ready as excited as ever about What's Comin Down the Tracks & I want to freight train an Elephant before the mean machine reaches the final station. Georgia football is about to return to Athens my friends, it's almost time to hunker down, I hope everyone here is ready to bring forth all of your Georgia pride?!
Southern by birth, Georgia Bulldog by grace
