wlayton, more than likely or possibly part of his "posse" play on the other side of the ball. I sincerely hope that Muschamp puts this one out "front".
Whatever happened to the "Oklahoma drill"?

Aaaah, yes. I'm not a big guy, but I have played some football, and that just brought back some memories. "Bull in a ring", "Oklahoma drill", "Bear crawls" . . . I'm sweating just thinking back a few decades!
Sometimes I'm not sure the word "TEAM" means what it used to. A Marine Corps Drill Instructor gave me a new perspective on it - the individual melts away - the TEAM emerges. Unfortunately, a "posse" isn't really a TEAM. And you are right, Buc, his "posse" is also playing football.
I'd like to think it's just the Gay-tors, but sadly, this seems to be the rule, and the Jarvis Jones-es of this world seem to be the exceptions. I'm proud of JJ. That's a mountain climber.

Agreed Buc, when CMR talks to parents, better believe that making these players into better young men enters into the conversation. It has been mentioned on this board before about some players not wanting to come to UGA because they don't want to adhere to the strict discipline demanded.
Sometimes we lose top recruits. Have to say that I personally want my university out of the headlines except for winning games and academic achievements.

Aaaaah yes......Oklahoma drill.....Bull in the Ring. We use to also do something called "roll-out", simply a drill to hit head on, head gear to head gear. We had guys get concussions for that drill all the time (I was one of them).
Our coaches were lucky nobody had anything serious happen to them. With these drills, they felt that if you didn't have the bridge of your nose split, you weren't doing a good enough job. We had several go to the hospital.....DUMB.

Really makes me appreciate Gurley/Marshall even more if that is possible.
"Bull in the Ring" definitely brings back memories . . . . sometimes as thriller/wlayton suggest, no memory when the helmets did meet. Been there also, as I am sure most that played the game then have been. My high school team did not refer to it as the "Oklahoma Drill".
Maybe Antonio needs to go "face up" with the judge in Miami that got Ochocinco's attention. Don't know if you guys have followed the case, but he has been released after a week and he had some interesting comments.

Edit: Listening to former football players (not all, some) come to Johnson's defense did not surprise me. There is this sense of entitlement that has been around too long now in my way of thinking. Ex-players that are hired by ESPN and others, especially ESPN to change our way of thinking. Media can be, and is very powerful. Those know-it-alls don't like folks like you and I questioning their reasoning. I say to them, kiss my butt.

Edit #2: Just in case some do not know that Chad Johnson did . . . . Head butted his wife, required eight (
stitches to close. Antonio now that I know you, might want to take to heart what Chad Johnson said. My guess is that it was a "sucker punch" that you delivered. Then ran, you stink.

TN Dawg posted . . . .
Sometimes we lose top recruits. Have to say that I personally want my university out of the headlines except for winning games and academic achievements.
Looking at some of the polls, this Georgia team in my mind has a lot of folks guessing. Probably many of us on this board fit into that circle.
This fact is beginning to stick out for me. While many, and there is no doubt that UGA's drug policies will prevent many of the BMOC from coming on board, I am in total agreement with TN Dawg and thriller's views on abiding by the rules.
Comes down to this . . . . Many will play for the Urban Meyers and others that give a "sack full" of chances before the "real" punishment comes down.
While on the subject. JHC, better take a close look at yourself. Many folks following the rules. As an example . . . . if AO had controlled himself in college, just how much different would his existing contract look like compared to what it would have been if he had not been a dumb ass, more than once. My bet is that his brother will always be around looking for some "brotherly love". Tired of this BS.
