Thoughts About UGA Football Program Now

Great thread guys. Sorry to be absent for so long, but have a lot going on with work and some other areas is life. Back to UGA football. Wins and losses are always crucial, but again, not going to feel bad about what we did last year. Bama game hurt, but the usc game had me really upset. I have mentioned that winning in the answer for many, but competing is also a key. We didn't compete in columbia last year. Take away that game, and I consider it a very solid year.

AM running more. I think that is a very touchy issue. I do feel early in his career that he gave up on some plays a little to early. He would get a little panicked in the pocket before he needed too, and tuck it. I do remember the coaches stating that he needed to sit in there a little longer. However, I think he took it to the extreme. I don't think CMR or CMB ever intended for AM to hang in the pocket for as long as he did at times the last 2 years. Believe I remember CMR even stating that there was a time when you have to tuck it and get what you can last year. I think AM just has to get a better feel and believe he will continue to improve on the aspect.

Clemson should be fun. I am not going to state whether the game is a must win. We all want to win. What is a must though is competing. Not like what happened in Atlanta against bsu, and what happened in columbia last year. To me, those games can just not happen. There is definitely no excuse for the total lack in effort and execution that we saw on those days.

Defense should be fun, as Buc and many others have pointed out, there is no shortage of talent and athletic ability.

GO DAWGS.

Glad to see you back AD5, hope all is well.

Will say that it is a lot easier to swallow a loss if a complete, full effort was left on the field.

While I would still "mourn" the loss, at least I would know the other team was better.....that's easier to accept in my book.

AllDawgs5, good to see you back, get the same feelings when I see your posts as I do when sadlerdawg returns. Took me a while to realize that some on this board are not my age and are still building for the future. I will just continue to chatter, old folks have to try and occupy their time. :)

The following paragraph that you posted has a lot to be considered if read and thought about.

Do believe this . . . . the only voice that will be heard in the offensive huddle will be AM's.

This particular link of Mike Bobo comes to mind. One thing about the video that I really do like . . . . our offensive and defensive coaches don't like the "other side" causing problems. A short time back, never would we see Mike Bobo exposing the "thin skin". Believe Mike has finally become comfortable in his skin. Will know much more on this subject this season. Lots of talent, so much that it gives me reason to pause.

I'm like a kid before Christmas this time of year with visions of crystal in my head instead of presents. Still concerned about our D not because of the youth. We have a lot of talent and hunger there. What concerns me and its been said in the past I think sometimes our schemes are so complacated it confuses our on players. I hope with the new coach CW all will gel.

Here is a story that many of us have been following for a long time.

Impossible to get Emmert out of my mind.

Just a crying shame. You would think they would understand that the injections weren't done properly (in fat versus the muscle) and it is "stored" there. I'm not an expert on the matter but you would think that if it is stored in fat tissue and not muscle tissue, it wouldn't be an enhancing factor.....maybe I'm wrong about that.

Just unbelievable.....if I was the father and these injections were administered wrong, I may be thinking "other" actions to be looked at. My son's future could be at stake over this mess.
