We have all the offensive weapons in the world.. but I still say we need to be
better at having the O eat some clock.
Being near the bottom of the league on time of possession again is not going to help our
run D.
We scored a ton of points last season, and will again this year.... but if we had
one flaw, it was too many 3 and out possessions where we only took 30 seconds off
the clock while trying to hold leads.

Really go along with Todd Grantham's words after his return from New Orleans.
Talking depth like never before. If we can 2-up on that defensive front seven, this might be a team to watch.
One other thing, some of the athletes on the offensive side are so good at what they do, always trying to put the ball in the endzone. Watching Conley in Orlando running after the catch, could not believe the speed. Sometimes it works like that, you have track speed, then there is football speed. Another receiver that is going to the NFL. Conley will be all that this season . . . . trouble is the offense needs more than one football.
Getdown11, on target, the name of the game is BALANCE. How does any team cover our offense? In some circles it is called a guessing game or tendencies. It is when your tendencies don't match up correctly with our game plan, Conley takes the ball, or Gurshall or whomever, go the length of the field. From my heart I believe Georgia Football is finally all about DEPTH.

Really takes the wind out of the defense to have run back out there 30 seconds later. Don't know if we can build that much depth.

Why doesn't CTG run the 4-3 along with the 3-4? (I know he has 4 DL at times)
Imo....why wouldn't you run the 4-3 against a traditional, pro style offense that runs "downhill" like a BAMA/LSU/UF (now)....
and the 3-4 against any form of spread offense....like a Texas A&M/Ark/AU?
That make more sense to me.
Guess I'm too stupid to know that answer.

Guess I am one of those old farts that remembers the days of "three yards and a cloud of dust", and that was very true in Athens for many years.
Just hope that this 2013 football team can come together and do whatever it takes to make the season a success.

I don't know either, but after seeing you say that I wondered something....
3-4 is complicated for run responsibilities because the 4 LB's have to read the play, and
they have to read the 3 DL in front of them as well. Maybe with all the variations in the
3-4, he thinks working in some 4-3 looks might just be too much for the players to handle?
Don't know... just throwing that out as a wild guess..
Buc.. no.. had my fill of 3 yards and a cloud of dust a long time ago.. I love the explosive/big play capability we have.. Just remember a few times when the D was ineffective and the O didn't help them because they 3 and outed without running any
clock.
I'm with you... just hope 2013 team can come together and do whatever it takes. What
was it Al Davis said? "Just win, baby"
