Re: Thoughts on Year Four and Todd Grantham #11 2 weeks, 5 days ago
Mention was made on this board about the "possibilities" of a strained relatioship between Garner and Grantham. For those of us that aren't privy to much of the "inside talk" found the following article interesting.
Standing a player and his coach up does not really show a lot of class, especially when an invitation was rendered.
Some good thoughts come from the fact that our new defensive line coach was involved with this player some time back and showed a lot of moxy by staying in touch with Bellamy.

Checking out post #6 in this thread, shows that there were definitely some problems between Grantham/Garner.
We can face off now with Garner's defensive lines. Looking forward to it, he is now the enemy and really don't like some of the things that I hear and read about Abuurn's defensive line coach. Know this, Mark Richt was not on his knees trying to keep Garner on the staff.
Garner and Willie out of the picture, have to be better days in Athens. Know that some will say and I cannot disagree totally that Garner was a heck of a recruiter. Maybe that was his strength, at one time, not in the case of Davin Bellamy. Understand that Davin is not yet commited to Georgia, but he is a hell of a lot closer under Grantham than he was with Garner.
With Wilson taking over the defensive line duties, and maybe involved more with special teams, has to be a plus. Wilson would not be in Athens if Todd Grantham had not wanted him on his side of the ball. I believe that. Nothing wrong with that. Good operations move by Mark Richt.
What sticks in my mind at this point 1/28/2013 are the remarks made by Davin Bellamy on the video interview . . . . he speaks loudly about Todd Grantham and TG wanting him in Athens. If he signs, this takes me back to Jordan Jenkins and the efforts made by Grantham to bring him to Athens. Maybe Todd Grantham is a good recruiter and possibly a very good defensive coordinator. Takes a very good recruiter to land a talent like Jenkins, especially when Saban/Smart want him. Truth.
