I wont go into naming them because we all know who they are and have been talking about them for months now. My question is how good will UGA's "D" be if we miss out on these parts of the puzzle we need to shore up the middle and stop the run, are we going to be able to "coach em up' and find the right people already here. What do you think?

growl, think that the article below plucked from The Lady Sportswriter, Kimberly Nash, ties in with your comments and thoughts above.

You know Buc I've heard it mentioned over and over for the last few years and have noticed myself(you'd have to be blind not to notice)that the Dawgs seem to lunge at runners rather than run through them like all of us were taught to tackle throughout the years. At the risk of redundancy, and stating the obvious, hopefully CCW will once again insist on wrapping up and running thru the runner to the ground. When UGA gets it back then we'll start seeing more consistency in the running game and open field tackling, for whatever reason UGA has lost the art of making that happen.

The sun shines on a different Dawg every day

Thanks for the link Buc! Pretty discouraging to read those comments from Geno Smith but like growl mentioned, we've all seen WAY too many missed tackles w/our own eyes over the past several years. I really wonder if the rash of preseason injuries in the Stafford days made Richt overly worried about the risks of physical practices? Fine line to walk no doubt but in the end, tackling is about fundamentals & desire, both of which falls on the coaches to instill in the players. No surprise that ol' Willie couldn't teach this but I would like to think Grantham & company can do better in this regard???

Goose always enjoy reading your threads and posts. Know you are a busy individual.

Agree with you on the feelings about Richt being a bit in between for a few years. Appears to me it did not take him long to bring back the mat drills. Another recent change made by Mark Richt.

36869 might be right about having a hard time winning a National Championship. I do believe I see Mark Richt doing some things differently, also feel the changes were needed.

Did like Kemberley's input on the Grantham/Garner issue. Really enjoy reading her work.

Getting close to signing day, believe there will be smiles on this board and others.
