Thoughts on Year Four and Todd Grantham

Picked the following up from The Lady Sportswriter, Kimberley Nash. Plot thickens a bit on the recruitment of Davin Bellamy.

“There is a story that a lot of people don’t know. Before I got my first offer anywhere. Georgia invited me down. Well, Coach (Rodney) Garner invited me down on a Saturday for an unofficial visit,” Bellamy said. “So, we go down there and there is no one there. None of the people in the building even know that I am supposed to be there. Garner tried to say that we had the dates mixed up, but my coach had message saved in his phone where we were supposed to come down that day.

Appears to me that there is going to be a "war" between Abuurn and Georgia for some time to come. Some of us have thought that there was bad blood or hard feelings between some of the coaches on the defensive side.

wlayton, oops is right. This day and time, electronics play a big part in these young players lives. On top of that . . . . these young men know how to use all of the gadgets on the market.

I don't doubt for a minute that Davin Bellamy is telling the truth. Interesting how quickly Grantham moved in after Garner's departure. Grantham did spend a lot of time with Bellamy some time back, giving his thoughts on where this young man fits in. Another Mom that likes Mark Richt . . . . surprise, surprise. :)

Like you said in an earlier post wlayton . . . . year four under TG. Only defensive coaching change that I am aware of is Garner leaving and Wilson coming on board. Did not shuffle the entire deck, won't be any one, two or three year learning curves.

Much has been said about the folks that are moving on, also much is anticipated by the coaches about those players stepping up. We might find ourselves in a very good situation in 2013. Excited about the schedule, show time.

Still wondering about Kwame, hope he remains in Athens for another year. Toward the end of this past season, Kwame was showing a "mean streak". In Orlando they were double teaming him every chance they got. I really believe another year and Kwame will move up considerably in the NFL draft. If he stays and uses the offseason wisely, a lot of scratch will hit his pockets next year.

Agree with you Buc but I am worried about Geathers staying....not a great family history with his family/relatives. There are about 5 Geathers football playing relatives that are all brothers or cousins. Only Robert played at UGA, but ALL have turned pro early.
