Time of Truth Dawgs!

Time of Truth Dawgs! was created by Buc
Fifteen days remaining before our Dawgs and the Cornhuskers square off in Orlando.

Really looking forward to this game for several reasons.

Living on the East Coast of Florida, Merritt Island, daughter graduated from UCF, around many folks that are pulling for UGA to win this game. Yep, Florida folks that don’t like us much of the year do not want to lose to the Big Whatever. Know that some can’t pull for Florida under any circumstance, understand that.

My intensity has grown since the “carpet bagger” came and turned tail, licking his wounds after almost destroying the University of Florida with his “methods”. Said a time or two on this board that Steve Spurrier has always been a major dislike of mine, that remains. Only person that I can say that I dislike more . . . . Urban Meyer.

Getting away from that frame of mind (might return).

Many of the folks that I associate with (Florida folks) will fight you tooth and nail, but those same people have a great respect for what the SEC has accomplished over the recent past. Many of us have known for years that the SEC has always played a serious brand of college football. Seems it took six (6) National Championships (back to back) (in line) (no separation) for the rest of the football world to understand that football is played with a lot of pp and vinegar down this way.

Looking for another Crystal, pulling for Alabama to do the “right thing”. First team that finally knocks the SEC off will be praised as no other team has in many years. Too bad that we (UGA) did not get to kick Notre Dame again, have to pull for those folks from Tuscaloosa to keep many in the media world upset.

Will be in Section 109 in the Citrus Bowl with my wife, a graduate of UGA in 1971. Really want our team to come and play football for four quarters. Somehow, don’t believe that Jarvis Jones, Williams and others will “fall off of the cliff” in this game. Means too much to all of us. Young men, put the finishing touches on the 2012 Season that many of you came back for. Don’t really give a hoot about the last “five yards” that many still want to put too much emphasis on. Alabama beat us. Get over it, saying that to some that still have that thorn up their butts.

Buc believes that this game plays a big role in the upcoming 2013 Season. Both recruiting and believing in the young pups that will return next season.

Looking forward to Clemson, South Carolina, LSU, Florida and the rest. Those that are afraid . . . . Do the same thing that Urban Meyer did, look elsewhere. 2013 is where we find out what our football team is all about. Rebuilding or reloading. Agree or disagree, I see it that way.

Go Dawgs, coach’em up!

According to the article below, probably one that many have read, the battle continues over Mitchell between Grantham and Bobo.

Last I read coming from the lips of Mitchell, said he wants to play on the offensive side of the ball. He prefers playing offense, is a better way to put it.

As long as we have Mitchell lining up with AM, don't give a hoot what team we play, eyes have to be on him, every play. Guarantee anyone that will listen, AM will always know where Mitchell is on the field.

Like to see some of the back and forth that the two coaches and press are presenting. Final decision comes down to Mark Richt. These are the decisions that I think I saw him making in 2012.

Looking for Mitchell to have a huge game in Orlando. One man is not going to cover him in a way that he does not gain yardage or put points on the board. Play man on Mitchell, signing your death warrant at some point in the game, any game, any team. Young man said he wants to learn his craft, and he wants that to be on the "O" side. Have to agree.

Grantham, time to get the DB's up and running. There is no shortage of talent in Athens and the incoming group is outstanding. Time for you and your team of coaches to look past a single player. I said that, not with disrespect, just looks that way to me. Mitchell is not the only player in Athens with talent, several headed that way soon.

Go Dawg, coach'em up! :)

Buc, sometimes on this board things get a little quiet, but make no mistake, we are all watching. Great observations, sir. I agree - MM, keep him on the "O". Put your comments another way - would YOU want to be the corner covering him 1 on 1? Not me!!!!

Great question, easy answer thriller . . . . No. :)

thriller on occasion I go back and look at the clip of the race between Marshall and Mitchell. To have that kind of speed along with great hands and football awareness, Mitchell is a blessed young man.

He has said openly that there are things that he needs to work on, route running and such. Our leading receiver and he does not think he is close to being all he can be. Leave him alone, let him spend the summer with AM, next season will be nuts. Leadership written all over Mitchell. :)

There is potential written all over this team, offensively and defensively, personally believe that next year could be the year of two 1000yd backs, one that will run all over defenders and the other that will fake them out of their shorts and it all makes for exciting football at UGA. There will be no excuses for the OL in 2013 either, its stacking up to be quite competitive and could get even more interesting with a couple of new recruits if we play our cards right (Tunsil for instance). We just need to stay on an even keel for the most part and hope that a couple guys stay around for another year(AM,KG). Yes sir we could be set up,keeping my fingers crossed.

growl, Tunsil is going to put a smile on some teams face for sure. We keep talking about getting that offensive line together as a unit, not for one year, but year after year.

Still convinced that Kublanow is going to be a terror.

Get that offensive front together, there will be smiles on all of our faces. Appears that Will Friend has let the troops know the "slow walkers" will not like their lack of playing time. We needed that type of pp and vinegar on the offensive side.

Remembering the fiasco some called a football game in Memphis, Tennessee. Offensive line appeared to give up, and . . . . our offensive coaching was not getting the job done. Not one coach, all of the offensive coaches. Still having nightmares about the UCF game.

Went back and looked at some posts prior to the UCF game, warnings were made to UGA that UCF would come to play, and they did, we did not.

Thinking maybe losing the last two bowl games have added to the changes we have seen this year and last in the "overall" coaching attitudes. Gotta luv it. Still say we are moving forward, and like you, crossed fingers on this years recruiting class Chief.

One more thing, we have to find someone to replace Alec Ogletree. Tree leaving for the NFL will leave a huge hole to be filled on the defense.
