Well guys... that was our chance for the crystal.

That was it, and we end the game not looking like we knew what we were doing.

Spike the ball and you've got two throws in the end zone.

That's it guys... that's the pinnacle.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

It will be a looooong time before the Dawgs are ever in this position again. Certainly not during the Richt era. CMR did enough this season to ensure that he finishes out his contract. Let's not kid ourselves, it will take back-to-back losing seasons before he is asked to leave against his wishes. Bama and LSU are returning to the schedule next year, Florida will be better, and Tennesee, Auburn, and Arkansas are all getting top tier coaches. Heck, even Stoops at Kentucky might be making some noise. The SEC is changing and we are being left behind. Now begins the slide into irrelevance.

I don't see any reason anything going on at UT, Kentucky, or anywhere else means we are on some slide to obscurity. That's not what I am saying although yes, next year we lose some talent on D and have a much tougher schedule.

All I meant is that was a great NC shot, and they don't come every season (unless you're Alabama). That was our best shot, and we could not finish the drill. Why didn't we have any
T.O's... why didn't we spike the ball giving us two plays and time to think about them?

Slide to irrelevance? No, but have another shot like this one?...Probably also a big fat NO as well.

lets not forget about Texas A and M......now that they are in the SEC they will recruit bigger and better players.....they will be a force to be reckoned with.....

For me, I'm not looking for excuses.....

1. BAMA's OL kicked our big bad D's tail.....ran it straight at us and we couldn't do anything about it. Play them again and they would DO it again......350+ yards on the ground speaks for itself.

2. AM played the best game of his career......the offense played very well imo. BAMA is great against the run but not great with the pass rush, so they threw it on 1st down some to avoid them dialing up blitzes on 2nd an/or 3rd. I don't put this loss on the offense, especially with BAMA's offense putting up over 500 yards.

3. I agree that my 1st instincts would have been to spike the ball and set things up for 2 plays. Either way they were going to get 2 more plays and AM stated he thought BAMA was on their heels so they attemped the fade in the back right corner.

What's missing in this converstaion is BAMA's LB made a great play and tipped the ball, that's what "possibly" cost us the game. Even if we had spiked it and got the 2 plays, doesn't mean we would have converted. Hindsight is always 20/20.

4. Bottom line.....we played the best game of the year, we absorbed BAMA's OL punching us in the mouth and still almost won the game. Believe we were more "out manned" than "out coached".

,,,,,,,,they were the better team.......:(
