I am usually a guy who hopes for bad things to happen for strategic purposes. Sometimes, for things to get better things must first get worse. So, with ticket in hand ready to travel to Jax, I really don't mind witnessing the clinic Florida is about to put on with us on the banks of the Saint Johns. I mean, why celebrate false hope? Suppose we win? How does that change anything in terms of the future for anything other than serving to keep the current regeme in place?
However, I've changed my mind. I am no longer secrety hoping we get our heads handed to us for the sake of expedience in finding a new coach. I'm going to Jacksonville with the hope of witnessing a miracle. Enough of going over scenarios and trying to predict the future. I want this win! Dawg nation wants this win! All of Dawg nation out there getting up and going to work at crap jobs who lost their homes to forclosure and have loved ones being bankrupted by medical bills, all the people out there in Dawg natrion serving overseas or in the police or fire departments making sure that the rest of us have the freedom and the luxuries to be able to watch football and come online and complain about it, they NEED this win. All of us woried about another 4 years of someone we would rather not have around another 4 years, WE NEED this win.
So, from now on, through October 27th, let's enjoy it for what it is, cheer on the team, stand behind the Dawgs, and hope for a little help from above.
The powers that be have prerty much said Richt isn't going anywhere if we win 10 games or lose 3 or fewer games this year and, with Florida and the Bowl looking like our only other losses, I don't see that happening.
Things are what they are. Mediocre coach in the middle of a logistical nightmare that makes doing what needs to be done next to impossible. It's out of my hands.
So, this week, I'll be rooting with my heart, not my head, even if my heart is destiend to get broken into a million little pieces when it's over. I want to remember what it's like to be a fan and to get excited about games and to stand behind my team and have hope and to beam with pride at the mention of their name. And that's what I'm going to allow myself to be this week. A fan. Not a prognosticator or pontificator or a realist. Just a man who loves his dawgs and wants to do his one small part to represent the Bulldog nation and cheer his team to victory.
That's something I haven't had for far too long and that's something that as of now, I'm taking back for myself, at least for this one week, this one game. Richt and his incompetent crew have robbed me of that. They've taken that away from all of us. And it's not right. We deserve to love and support our team free of politics and prognostication, so this week, for this one game, I'm not going to allow these incompetent clowns who run things on the sidelines to take that away from me.
I'm wearing my Dawg gear, I'm decking out my car with the flags, and I'm going to be just a guy who loves his Dawgs and hates the Gators and wants them to beat his arch rivals and nothing else. This week, I'm just a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs.
GO DAWGS!!! SIC 'EM!!!!!
