Think it will probably take you going to Athens and having a "back room chat" with the head coach.

After last nights game you would think McGarity is on the phone this morning talking to Smart! Because that win last night should start a nail in the coffin for this coaching stuff........

Edit: The photo below I have had in my files. Had not posted it here, was in lock step with Grantham. Saw the photo on another site . . . time to break the file out.

This is the intensity that is needed at UGA, thought we had it, however guess that President Adams did not agree, likes the calm, cool presentation of another coach.

Wartdawg, there is no getting around the fact that President Adams is a Richt man. Understandable up until the past 5 or so years. Collection plate has been running over with donations. Think his time is up in June of 2013, will be interesting to see the replacement.

Yep...I know he is, and everyone needs to remember that as we plead with McGarity to "step up".

McGarity can't do it on his own. It's probably not McGarity who is perfectly happy with backing into 1st of the SEC east
and getting stomped in the championship game. It's not McGarity satisfied with 10 wins but falling way short of our potential.

It's the higher power above him.

I saw a lot of UGA teams from that era where the talent was
mediocre, but the heart and desire was maximum. Don't remember seeing those teams quit. I don't remember many of those teams falling way short of what we thought they should achieve. I know back then (excepting for the Herschel years) that we were often a 9-2, 8-3 kind of school..
but we over achieved a lot more often than we underachieved.

Wartdawg, you are exactly right about those teams, especially the defense. They had to in many cases take care of the VD "three yeads and a cloud of dust" offenses. The big change came when HW signed on . . . . defense could put their hands on him at the three yard mark, but never stop him with only three gained. Also the folks that did try and tackle HW as we all know, shied away from contact later in the game.

Appears that we have a stable of very good running backs, but our offensive coaches not paying close attention to the offensive line is limiting what could be going on in Athens right now.

Next season under the present group does not look promising to me. Watched Richt in his press conference last night, didn't really see any fretting from this lackluster performance. Seems very secure in his job.

Edit: Spurrier pulls no punches with his players, lays it out there. He does not talk about the "perfect storm" when he mentions what he saw on the football field.

SOUTH CAROLINA QUOTES
Head Coach Steve Spurrier

Opening statement
The only thing you can hope is that your guys give it their best shot and not just lay the ball down and basically say `Here Florida, we don't want to win. You guys take this fumble and this fumble and this fumble.' So it was sad, and on the other side, their defense stuffed us. They stopped our running game and passing game. We didn't make much, had a few chances here and there. Dylan (Thompson) didn't have a lot of opportunities there at the end. I thought we had some early in the first quarter. We just over threw, we under threw, it just didn't work, so we thought we would give Dylan and opportunity, but what we do next week - I'm not sure yet. One thing we must do is find the guys that really want to play for South Carolina. If we have to cover on kickoff (using) D.J. Swearinger, (Jadeveon) Clowney, Chaz Sutton, (we will because) we can't watch the guys that are playing right now. We can't watch these guys that are laying on the ground. It could have been a heck of a game for everybody. It was embarrassing for us, very embarrassing the way we played.
