Come Home

Have to check in on Willie Martinez on occasion. Longest pass play 37 yards, guess Willie is still trying to make the "cover two" work . . . . his interpretation. Give me the screens if they are picking up at least 10 yards every time. This is exactly what Florida did to us over and over again when Richt's defensive coordinator was residing in Athens. Some never learn.

PASSING DEFENSE

C: Vanderbilt should have just run wide receiver screens every play. They were always completed and good for at least 10 yards per attempt. Other than that, Jordan Rodgers didn’t have much success. He completed 15 of 25 passes, but his efforts were only good for 173 yards. The longest pass play Auburn allowed was a 37-yard connection with Chris Boyd in the fourth quarter that helped put the game away.

Do I like this man, no, I love to see him lose, and lose big time. The one think you can not take away from SS is that he is one heck of a coach, tells it like it is, and will make changes when necessary. I'd take 5 SS over CMR, I am so sick and tired of his calm manor, and stick to the plan ect ect.

Do I think we will back into the SEC championship, NO, for Fl will destroy us worse that they destroyed USC. At least USC has a man for a D not like our soft puppys that quit. Ya I'm being my old self, and if anyone one here can justify the play of our D and not say they have quit, then so be it. Our ST suck just about as bad as our D, was feeling hopeful about the OL, but they suck as well, and next week AM will be on his back and our great RB's will have another 20 to 35 yard performance as they did against USC and KY. Hard to except that KY D man handled our OL and our backs could only pick up 77 yards. Where has this team gone?

ONLY way CMR is fired is if we lose 3 of our last 4 games......and it IS a possibility.

duck, hard to disagree with facts.

Nothing wrong with starting the season and hoping or looking for the best. That attitude comes with a respect for the University of Georgia. Would hate to go through life without a glimer of hope.

Took a while for the Richt era to totally unfold, and it has done that. Now as supporters of the University of Georgia we have to try and get "our" side of the story out. Like you, have to call it the way you see it. Don't really think anyone on here is trying to disagree with most individual opinions. If we read every post on this board or others, it basically comes down to everyone wanting UGA to be "one of the best".

Some of the regular posters on this board seem to believe that it is going to take some doing and time to make the necessary changes in Athens.

Comes back to us giving our opinions if we post. Have yet to meet anyone in my lifetime that had all of the answers, whether right or wrong.

Still believe that the sooner we bring Kirby Smart "home" the sooner we see "real change" in Athens. That for example is my opinion, read some of the other blogs, the fur stands up on the necks of the "supposed" supporters when getting rid of Mark Richt. Appears to me that change will happen when we fall as hard as Chizik is falling at Auburn.

averagedawg, drives me nuts and I know that you know a lot of the "inside" things. Watched the post game wrap up with Richt, and as one article that I read pointed to . . . . Richt looked really tired. If Kirby Smart was offered, deep in my heart I believe he would come. Neither you or I are going to like Kirby clad in orange. That would be the worst thing that could happen to our program. Smart listened to Saban, and now the payoff for Kirby is at his fingertips.

averagedawg, if the opportunity presents itself in JAX, Muschamp will try to do to us what Spurrier did to us while at Florida and now South Carolina. Brent Pease is the real deal, knows how to get the ball into the endzone. Some of the folks that I know down this way have said that Muschamp is really looking forward to JAX and erasing all doubt that Foley made the right move.

Brother, we really need Kirby Smart, what a show JAX would be every year if he and Muschamp were going head to head. After Kirby, not sure who would be available to us . . . . no one with the background that Kirby Smart brings.

Bet that fireplace is crackling in the mountain home. :)
